Welcome to the site, not sure if this is what you're looking for, but it won't immediatly shift out of 4wheel drive, don't know if there's a sensor that picks up stress on the tc but it waits till the load is light

BTW most everybody on here is picture whores, so ya better post some up

what model is it? Is it a limited with the push button 4wd

or another model with a manual lever to shift to 4wd?

Its a limited Push button 4wd. to add it will not shift back on any surface, like its stuck in 4wd. And here are some pics for you guys:)

Even if you shift it back out of 4wd into 2wh, then wait a second...and then drive forward a bit. You should see the 4wd light go off and hear the 4w disengage. I know it take about 4-5 ft of driving before mine shuts off.

I've noticed on mine when I disengage the 4wd I won't hear the click nor the lights go out until I take my food off the gas pedal.

Check your tire pressure

On another truck I had the 4wd would not disengage easily if the pressure was low in one tire. Check your tire pressure and make sure its equal in all four wheels; could be an easy solution.
