Issue with Addicted Offroad

Need advice. I ordered a rear bumper from Addicted Off-road and the quality control was not up to par. It did not have a plate welded in to fill the gap between the bumper and the hatch (4” gap), the hitch pin would not fit and I did not receive the mounting hardware. I reached out to Addicted Off-road via e-mail (3 times) and phone (multiple times) and have received no response. I had to pay a local fabricator $100 to weld in a plate for me and re-drill the hitch pin hole. All I asked them to do is reimburse me the $100 to complete their work. Do I have any recourse or do I just chalk it up as bad customer service and just never order from them again? Pic below of the gap where the plate should be.

It depends on how you paid for the order. If you used a credit card, and are still within the time limit to file a claim for poor product quality or misrepresentation, you could get the charge reversed. Be prepared to show your card issuer photos of the shoddy work done by Addicted Offroad and hope they understand what you're talking about. With some card issuers, a claim can be filed for less than the entire purchase price.

If you're past the time limit, then you could just consider this a cheap lesson about post-sale customer service and product quality offered by Addicted Offroad.

I did notice, however, that questionable vendors frequently stretch out product delivery times in order to make sure the card dispute time window runs out. It's up to you to determine if Addicted Offroad may have done so to protect themselves from expected charge backs.

Thanks for the response, unfortunately I ordered it the first week in April so I’m past the deadline on the credit card dispute. It’s unfortunate because I’ve never had any problems with Savage Off-Road or Shrockworks, both of those companies were great to work with.

No harm in calling the credit card company and explaining what happened to see if they can do anything. Just make sure you can prove when you received the item.

Thanks, I just called the cc company and filed a dispute just for the $100 that it cost me to fix the bumper. I have all of the documentation so hopefully it will be resolved.
