Issue with putting new bushings on endlink

Longtime lurker here needing a bit of help with my first time changing endlinks out. I bought the prothane kit off amazon and swapped and painted my swaybar and swapped the bushings at the same time.


The issue I have is for the life of me I can't get the nut on the bushings for the new endlinks. Everything is installed right im sure. Ive jacked up the vehicle and tried to get the nut on there with the new bushings to no avail. Any suggestions or tips to get the nut on there?

I'm still confused!!! Front or rear? And you mean the new rubber bushings(1 above and 1 below the sway bar end) can't squish them down enough to get the nut started?

I understand now I think....try putting both bushings and washers and squeeze with some bigger channel locks

...I just put mine in this weekend and did it that way but mine hardly needed any extra effort to start the nut...toytec bushing kit

Which end links did you get? I had zero trouble with the ACDelco links and prothane bushings this morning. Are you lifted?

Jack the lower control arm. That forces the top of the endlink up through the sway bar end, far enough to get the nut started. Just take one end off at a time. If both ends are loose, life gets much more difficult.

Not lifted, yeah the front ones and the end links are from importdirect (oreillys) the bushings are prothane. The problem is getting them squished enough to get the nut started. Ill five the channellocks a try first thing in the morning along with the others mentioned. Thanks!

Yeah they are both loose :/ one endlink was actually completely gone towards the top

Since both end links are loose, put the jack under the center of the sway bar. Gently lift it a bit, and that will rotate the front of the sway bar down, so that you can then have room to start the nuts. Once the first side side started, the second will be much easier, by jacking under the lower control arm.

This is exactly what I ended up doing however with a slight variation. I had new endlinks with their supplied bushings that went on without and issues. So I put the bushings on one side and then took the prothane bushings and put them on the other side. After they went on I went back to the previous side and got them back on there with a bit of effort. Ended up having to take the wheel off to torque them to spec and as I was putting the wheel back on I snapped the very last wheel stud off -.- needless to say it was a fun weekend. I'd much rather work on the toyota than my nissan.
