Need some opinions.
It could be that I am in a new area, with new streets and am driving more but I feel like I am "feeling" the road more. Hard to explain. More bumps. More road noise in my steering wheel.
I do know that my new ceramic pads have in fact warped my rotors and I will be addressing that soon. If this is connected, let me know. So, here it is.
3 Weeks ago the wife and I packed up a large 6x12 Uhaul and moved about 600 miles. A non trivial amount. My truck is a v8 and pulled it fine. Not a single issue while towing.
It could be me, but since the move I am noticing much more road noise both in my pedal and in the steering wheel. Just before I moved, I did flush the steering system with Dexron fluid. It had PS fluid in it before, and I have since learned from Toyota that both work with no issues. The Dexron seemed :lighter" of a fluid and I wonder if this is contributing to the increased "road noise" I feel I am getting.
Others: Tires NEW on the truck. Now 10k on them. Could it be an out of balance or alignment issue finally impacting the tires? I need to take them to have them balanced and aligned.
Finally: When fully loaded, the uhaul did pull my back down a couple of inches for the move. Nothing I could do about it once loaded. Would this destroy my XREAS? I have not checked super close, but I cannot see any fluid/oil leaking around the shocks.
What would the symptoms be? Since they are cross linked, it is probably that only one would go bad? I don't notice any uneven suspension play and I don't notice any lag or over bounce in the suspension. Large bumps, humps and etc, it appears to still drive over as it should.
Could it be play in my front end?
Hints? Suggestions? Anyone who had a bad XREAS go on them, what did it feel before and after?
