I have to ask, why didn't you just keep your 4Runner and have the insurance company deduct the salvage value from the payout instead of going to bid against other people for it?

Thats a good question! The salvage value ended be a whole lot more than I was expecting, I can't remember the exact value but it it was in the 3700-4000 range. I decided to take the full payout for a new 4runner and try my luck getting my old one cheaper through the auction.
