...This section (5th gen) of this forum could be broken down into more categories.

Like:

Wheels/Tires
Interior/Exterior
Member builds
4x4 off road
Engine
Transmission/transfer case
Technical
Stereo/Electronics
Want to sell
Want to buy
Etc. Etc. Etc....

You get the idea

I know the overall forum has this, but is this possible for the individual sections?

To me it does not seem as though there is sufficient traffic in the 5th Gen area to justify so many categories.

IMO that's too many sub-sections to browse for new posts/threads. The way it is now you can easily see all new traffic.

Perhaps the reason for such light traffic is because this section lacks any organization. I agree with the op.

i have thought about that too but i also get on here at least twice a day so i can manage everything pretty easily...i guess it would have its pros and cons

Ultimately it'd be best if the information could be pushed/scraped so it appears as it does currently and in categories that make logical/common sense. Suppose that's dependent on the forum code - but it should be do-able.

I'm just glad that there is a forum on 5th gen 4Runners that so many knowledgable people frequent and are nice enough to answer questions.

I'm a 3rd Gen guy who uses the view new posts function, so I see everything. Personally I find these forums too divided up as it is with Maintenance, Warranties, etc., and often I'm reluctant to post something important anywhere except front and center in the 3rd section. Some people don't bother visiting sub-forums, so it kills the replies one may get.

i kinda like all 5th gen stuff together, because i'm interested in all sorts of things that involve the 5th gen..some stuff i have never even thought of, so by it all being in one forum..i see it all..which gives me ideas.....That downside is my wallet hates me.
