It's been one of those days!

So... Ever have one of those days where nothing goes right? Today was one of those days for me where I had no business working with a kids plastic tool set let alone a real set of steel wrenches. My attention to detail was nonexistent and it seemed as nothing was going right. I know, cool story... cry me a river... what's your point? :violin:

Here lies my problem. I got my transfer case assembled after disassembling it a couple times because of stripped threads on a part of the case housing then forgetting to put in a dowel between the two shift rails. After getting it assembled AGAIN and getting it mounted to the transmission I noticed I had a leftover seal on my work bench. This is the seal that I had left over.

Transfer case adapter seal:

Now I get to take the case apart for a third time to fix my F-UP!! Here's the lesson: when you know you're having a day where you cannot pay attention to jack schit, leave things alone and go for a run or go watch to or something else that required very little thought.

^ THis.Take a breather, and tare it apart on a different day.

Or just dump A TON of stop leak in there. Hahaha.

Do what I do when I'm having 'one of those days'.

Take some time off - hit the front porch with a couple of home brewed beers, and a nice cigar. This alone time puts a different perspective on fixing things the right way.

Hope today is a better day for you SV.

I've got a La-z-boy recliner for days like that. When I get mad enough that I've got to go pick up I've thrown(I keep a cheap adjustable handy for that role), I pull it out the recliner the driveway, break open a cold one, and just reflect.

I was there to witness this and give moral support. For those of you who do not know, SVD has meticulous attention to detail (why he can never finish a project). Definitely not yourself man. Live and learn.

Sure... I'm rebuilding a TRD E-locker with 5.29s for the front end, after rebuilding and installing another TRD E-locker with 5.29s for the rear end of my T4R. It sucks when you put it all together just to find out you did not get it right.

But, the way I look at it is that the experience from doing it yourself is priceless...with the help of the internet of course.

Sometimes you need to fail in order to learn. It's all about keeping your cool and trying again once you clear your head.

I haven't had any time lately to do any work on the runner but hopefully tomorrow I can dig back into the transfer case and do it right. MAYBE I can find some time this weekend to get the tranny and xfer case installed. Then the fun starts... interior and body work!
