i pickedup 4500k HIDs for my headlights and 3000k bulbs for my fogs...Just installed today....what you guys think?

the 3k fog look kind of yellow. I have 5700k 80w in my fog and the same in my low beam they look really white with a hit of blue to them.they match the low really nice!

thx....3000k is yellow.going for the JDM lexus look.

were you on the southern state parkway on satruday nighr around 6:30?? i think, i saw a 4runner exactly like yours...

I could never bring myself to HID a car that was not equipped orig as the lack of autolevel has driven me crazy when seeing other cars with and I could never do that...

That said.

I like the HID's color and while im 100% sure that they put out more lumens than my 9006 replacement bulbs, they are almost exactly the same K color.

The fogs on the other hand...not for me. Sure a yellower light will cause less refraction in actual low viz conditions but as we all know, those fogs are about useless in such conditions as their lumen output is about squat needed to actually push through those situations.

So for me, i felt that matching the colors of both the low/fogs which are always on at the same time with me, should match both lumen output and K ratings.


Your truck your call, not half bad and since you have a plan for it and thats what you decided on, i cant say really much of squat against it.

no..i bought a 9006 HID conver. kit

if your going to put HIDs into the headlights....black out the housing. It makes a BIG difference in terms of glare and cutoff. I know... because I have gone through this.

So where is the best place to buy this kit. I was looking on ebay and saw a kit that was 8000K for around $280.00. I was thinking the 8000K was a bit much. Anyone have any thoughts on this. Easy to install these kits?

Don't get that color temp. You will have a hard time seeing at night. The higher the color temp the less light. Search around for some 6000k at most. Try xenondepot.com
