Help me out with tune system's (See bottom)

This weekend I'll find out about the final decision with the 4Runner. They have 2 in the color I want . (Galatic Gray) Both have the same option's EXCEPT 1 has the V8 & JBL Synthsis tune system & the other has the V6 with the stock tune system.

I'll see what they offer me on the Z71 Tahoe and take it from there.......decision's , decision's , which one to take ....lol

I'll know more after Saturday (no time to see them until then). It will be the end of the month so I'm hope they will be a little more aggressive on the dealing.

You might want to consider taking an ad out in the paper. I did that and sold my 97 F-150 xlt supercab flareside with 135,000 miles on it for $7500. That was about $2000 than KBB was offering for trade-in at the time.

I was not able to get to the stealership on Sat. , due to a family issue.

The only problem with selling outright is that my Tahoe is worth quite a bit of money and my luck has alway's not been so good trying to sell such an expensive vehicle outright, but maybe I'll give it a try for the heck of it.

Galactic Grey! What an awesome color! I tried to change my order to that but it was too late. In any case, I recommend the V6 on the same grounds as it was pitched to me by a friend. Unless you plan on towing a boat or something, the V8 is not worth it. Plus you already have a Tahoe and that should take care of those type situations. You're sure to get better gas mileage and possilbly a more quiet ride but that has been debated before. The JBL system should have came with the V6 especially if they're going for the same price. I disagree. When my wife and I made our decision, we felt that the V8 offered a much smoother, quiet, and powerful ride. The difference in gas mileage seemed negligible. Think about it...if you can afford a 4Runner, you can afford the gas. It's not like you're looking at a 10 mpg difference, or even a 5 mpg difference. We went with the V8 and never looked back.

Incidentally, we also have an '06 Tacoma PreRunner with the same V6 as the one in the 4Runner. This engine is much noisier on acceleration and during highway cruising. It offers a decent amount of power to the Tacoma, but the Tacoma is a lighter vehicle. Also, I'm more tolerant of engine noise in a pickup truck than in an SUV that hovers near luxury territory.

As for sound systems, I think the JBL system is pretty decent for a factory system. I would definitely get it again given the chance. If you also have the opportunity to get navigation, I would strongly suggest that. I regret skipping this due to time constraints. You still get JBL sound and a 4 disc changer.

try selling your truck on craigslist.org. doesnt cost anything and you can even post up to 4 pictures. i had a great experience selling my truck there.

try listing your truck on Cars.com... I was trying to sell my Acura for almost 2 months. I listed it in the paper, the local auto shoppper, nothing. Within a week of cars.com, I had 11 calls and sold the vehicle.

I will see what I can do with selling my truck, if not I'll trade it. I do have a plan through my work , because I work in sale's we get a 500.00 per mo car allowance . So I guess even though money is money I really only use my car allowance to pay for my vehicle's.

As far as the sound system , I'm running into a problem there. The dealer tell's me that the JBL Synthsis is NOT available in the sport , only in the limited (i really want that system if it's available) The brochure list's the stock 6 speaker system , then a premium system and then the JBL synthsis system w10 speakers , as an option for the sport package. (it also list's the Nav system ) but I don't want that .
They seem to be dick's about me wanting that system and are telling me that the Premium system is the best available in the sport package. I don't know if that's because that's all they have on the lot and want to move the inventory. I'm going to be checking other dealer's during the week. If any of youy have insight on this for the 2006 model's , help would be appreciated.

1. AM/FM Cd with 6 speaker's , in glass FM diversity antenna and MP3/WMA playback capability. (Show's this as standard system).

2. AM/FM 6-disk in dash CD changer with 6 speaker's and MP3/WMA Playback capability. (This is what the window sticker states as premium)and optional in the brochure.

3.JBL Synthsis AM/FM 6 Disk in dash CD changer with 10 speakers and MP3/WMA playback capabilities. (Brochure list's as option)

4. Navgation system....I don't want that so I won't elaborate. (listed as option for sport with restriction.)

I just looked on Toyota's website. You can get the JBL system in any model. The dealer is probably just trying to move his vehicle off the lot.

Your going to be paying over 30 thousand for this so don't let a dealer jerk you around. Toyota has the best vehicles BUT their dealerships are very shady. Take what they say with a grain of salt.

I special ordered my 04 Sport so I could get side curtain airbags. It took like 3 months, BUT I got everything I wanted. V8/AWD/JBL/Alarm....etc....

It sounds like you have researched this a lot, maybe you should consider special ordering too. They won't want you to do that b/c they want to move stuff off the lot, but thats not your problem.

Also, today its the end of the month. Their quota's are due. I placed my special order on the 30th and got invoice. You should be able to do the same thing, and get any rebates that are available.

It all depends on your region. In mine, for instance, all V6 Limiteds come with #3, JBL Synthesis 10 speaker system. All V8 Limiteds come with #4, JBL navigation and 8 speaker sound system. All SR-5 and Sport, V6 or V8 come with #2, basic sound system with the 6-disc in-dash changer.

Technically speaking, you can get any sound system on any model, SR-5, Sport or Limited with the V6 or V8. The only exception is the getting JBL Synthesis w/10 speakers and a SR-5 or Limited equipped with the third row. The challenge is being able to find a particular 4Runner with that option.

Here in Wisconsin all the V6's have option #1 , and the V8's have option # 2 and is listed as premuim stereo on the sticker. ( I'm only talking about sport model's here).

What's confusing me is that Toy's website list's the JBL Synthsis as code DJ , and the window sticker's here list it as DJ , but it's not the 10 speaker system......I'm still diggin into this though.
