It's Thursday. Got my new 4Runner. picture attached.

Actually got it last night. I really like it. I keep discovering new features (like traffic alerts) that I didn't even know it had. I can't wait to get it off road.

The delivery was great. The Kansas City dealer used a transporter that brought it right to my house. The transporter is a guy with a truck and a 5th-wheel carhauler trailer. The trailer can hold two cars (maybe 3 if they are small). Super nice guy that took good care of the 4R and brought it a day early.

My ONLY complaint is the lumbar support. It's too low and it hits right at my belt. It becomes uncomfortable after 20 min. of driving, even when fully retracted. I'm playing with seat angles to figure out what's most comfortable.

Thank you all for the advice and thoughts during my purchase process. I'm sure I will have more questions as I play with my new toy.

Can you give some more details? Which package(s)? What did you get it for (price of vehicle only, no taxes, etc.) if you don't mind me asking?

You didn't happen to trade in that white 2008 that's sitting on the lot now did you?

I bought my 08 a couple weeks ago at Olathe Toyota, it was the only one in town. I just noticed Jay Wolfe has a nice white 08 V8 with Navigation, wondered if that's what you traded in.
 
@Volrus - I gave $41,500 for it, plus $500 to ship it from KC to Houston.
It's a 4wd LE with beige seats, nav, 3rd row, remote start, cross bars, and floor mats. I talked to a half dozen dealers all across the country (from Ohio to Colorado and everything in between). I got nowhere with negotiating. More often than not, when I found one listed on a dealer's website, it was gone before I could even make an offer. When I tried to negotiate a good price, the dealers didn't call me back. It seems that white/beige with 3rd row is a rare and desirable combination.

Thanks! I'm wanting everything you have minus the nav and remote start so I was just curious. Sounds like I should be able to do that for around $38k.

Very interesting remark. I frequently drive a 2010 GX460 for my employer. Comparing against the 4Runner, the position of the lumber is noticeably higher than the 4Runner. At 5'7", the Lexus lumbar hits my mid back and is uncomfortable for me to where I release it all the way out. My 4Runner is puuuurrrrrrrfect. I guess they assume affluent people are taller and will buy the Lexus, and vertically challenged folks like myself can only afford the lowly Runner! LOL.

Interesting observation re: the Lexus. I have improved my seat by putting a rolled up towel at the base of the seat back, just below the lumbar support. It seems there is a recess that allows my rear end to sit too far back, causing the lumbar support to press into my back just above my belt. Maybe it's too high rather than too low? I'm 6' and 195 pounds.

I have no physical measurements, but I am positive about the Lexus lumbar engaging my back higher than that of the 4Runner. Seems like the easy solution would be a simple up/down motorized adjustment with the in/out. I guess I am lucky that the 4Runner lumbar hits me exactly where I find it comfortable.
