Jacksonville, fl need help with lift

How is everyone? I just received my icon stage 1 lift from metal tech. Does anyone know of a good 4x4 shop to install or even maybe some good hands to help. Stealership wants 1000 with alignment, SMH! Thanks!

So went to the dealer, and the technician said that he needs to recalibrate entire KDSS system and bleed the system in order to even install lift correctly. Is this correct and is this bleed of the KDSS even needed? They said they have never installed a lift on a KDSS 4runner. Any suggestions?

Do it yourself for free. Kdss makes it a bit harder, but that seems a little like over kill.

Yes I have read a lot about lifted 4runners with KDSS and have not heard of people having to drain the KDSS lines and bleed them. Funny thing is that dealer apparently called TOYOTA engineers and that is what they recommend get done. I too think that is too extravagant. I will call North Florida and get some info also. Thanks for the feedback!

There is no way I would want them touching my truck, if they don't even know that bleeding the KDSS is not required. Maybe they would pay you, to let their mechanics (?) learn on your vehicle?

I know this thread is old, but I have a similar question regarding getting suspension work done on a KDSS equipped 4runner in the TLH/panhandle area.
Probably just a mild 2" lift (Dobinsons shocks + springs, or 5100's + springs.) There are a couple off-road shops locally, but they seem very Jeep or solid front axle Ford/Dodge focused.

If you have basic tools, a nearby auto parts store that rents tools, and some mechanical knowledge you can do it in your driveway. It's easier if you have a vehicle lift but jack and stands will get it done. Oh yeah, read the how-to section on this forum and have Youtube available. There are literal step by step instructions with pictures here and online videos that will clear up any lingering questions. You got this!

I know my post above isn't quite what you wanted for an answer. That said, most of the shops in Florida do budget lifts for people because their rigs don't see much hardcore offroading. You can definitely do new shocks, springs, and/or spacer on your own. If you take it to a well known 4x4 shop in FL they are gonna rape you in pricing because what those shops usually turn out is 3-4 inch body lifts on 3-4 inch suspensions lifts for BROs driving Chevy/Ford/Ram on 20" rims and 44s. I'm from Milton so I know what I'm talking about haha with those turd trucks.

No, that’s just what they told you they did, in order to justify that absurd cost they quoted you.
Bleeding the kdss? This should be a sign to you to avoid this dealer forever.
