Jake the mistake screws us again

I was at the game yesterday watching Jake "the mistake" Plummer in all of his glory; 2 INT's and 2 fumbles. Great fun.

To think that I actually wasted 15 minutes of my life digging his jersey out of a box in my basement to watch him single-handedly ruin the game for us. Not to take anything away from Pittsburgh, who decisively outplayed and shredded our D, but at least we would've had a chance!!! The jersey is going back down into the same box for another 3 years.

True, but he picked a hell of a game to fall apart. Pittsburgh is white-hot right now, beating Cincy, Indy and Denver on the road??? Very impressive.

On another note, Jake did have his best season ever, but what we are looking for is consistency here in Denver and the ability to step it up in games that matter. Denver is a very fickle town when it comes to football. We can turn on a guy in a very short period of time, look at Brian Griese. That being said, I think Jake is our QB and will be for a long time, but it hurts when he is responsible for 4 turnovers. Whatever though...Congratualtions to Pittsburgh I'm rooting for AFC to win the Super Bowl!!

My heart breaks for you guys, try being a Charger fan come SuperBowl Season - only one appearance and we got creamed....

This game was a set-up all the way. First off, the Steelers wouldn't have even been a Wild Card team had Rothliesberger (sp?) not been injured mid-season. They lost all four games and fell out of the race for the division with the Bengals.

Don't be fooled by Jake's numbers this year. Yeah, he did have a lot of pass attempts with less than ten interceptions but then he had less than twenty touchdowns. So, sure enough they couldn't really move it on the ground and when they went to the air - let's just say that wasn't the best part of their offense.

Plus, the Steelers played a hell of a game. Although, Cowher comes from the Marty school of get a lead and sit on it. He did it in the third with a four and short on the Broncos side of the fifty with a three score lead. Let's see, punt right into the end zone. ARRGHH..

If that's the Patriots they keep scoring. Hopefully, Cowher can learn from Belicheck - aggression is rewarded.

Seahawks looked real good. Should be a pretty good game. If Cowher let his team play the Steelers win...

I can feel for you as well. I am a Giants fan and had to suffer through Wildcard Weekend! It is definitely worse for Broncos fans because your team was a game away from making the Super Bowl. Just think, compared to Eli Manning, Jake Plummer looked like a pro yesterday! At least he found the endzone! I was cheering when Eli was able to complete a pass to a receiver in a Giants Jersey! :bash:

Bill42, the Chargers DEFINITELY should have been in the postseason this year. They have one of the best teams in the NFL.

It was a collective team collapse and the Broncos went to the air too early and should have run more. The Broncos D couldn't get off the field when the steelers had a 3rd down and that wasn't Plummer's fault.
I also hate the fans that turn so early against the team and that doesn't help anything.

We'll be back in the thick of things next season with maybe TO. :

yes but they also have Schottenheimer who is an outstanding coach during the regular season but his teams have issues during postseason play and this is even after John Elway retired which Marty was happy to see.

Where to begin, lol... For a second year QB, Eli did real well. He is becoming a good QB and without all of Payton's frenetic pre-snap routine. A good trade by the Giants.

Ahhh, Marty S... The Chargers as an organization are in need of a steady influence to help make the Chargers into a consistently winning franchise. With their recent successes in the draft and Brees' increased level of play they have proven they have potential.

I agree - this is where they are the most challenged - can Marty take them deep into the playoffs and have success? I think he has just this coming season to get them at least to the AFC Championship Game - and even that may not be enough.

At the conclusion of the season when the media told the GM that the owner had said that Marty would be coming back he only said well, if that's what the owner said than I guess he'll be back - not much of a ringing endorsement.

Plus, this is not this GM's coaching selection...

YEAH........I know the feeling! Jake "mistake-sewer" Plummer reminds me of our qb "Errand" Aaron Brooks in New Orleans. Every sportscaster talk about the good games they have......except the games are always when it DOESN'T count for a pile of crap!!
