Had some fun this weekend Saturday was really bored and did backyard flexing and then Sunday went to a truck show and played on the rti ramp. Scored a 571 forward and a 600 backwards not bad for stock worn out suspension and sway bar connected. Guys said going backwards I flex more then a stock wrangler hell yeah lol...

Starter woes..... so after my awesome timing belt job and feeling so proud of myself last sunday my starter crapped out on me, so with the advice from other Toyota owners we concluded it was most likely the plunger and copper things(awesome technical term) I purchased the items from my local Toyota dealer 50 bucks for everything plus the O ring throttle body gasket.. anyways I proceeded to remove the starter and found out all the horror story's where lies it was day to get in and out 3 different times I might add. Anyways I replaced what was thought to be broken put the starter in and could hear the Bendix engage but no cranking, so out came the starter again I thought maybe the Bendix didn't engage all the way or what not so I pulled it and checked everything, decided maybe it was a fluke thing installed it again and nothing all I could say is WTF I have now spent 4 hours on a job that should take me an hour Max.
So I pulled the starter again went to the auto store and bench tested it and it worked fine, so I'm scratching my head and ask if they have a starter in stock we could compare it too. Come to find out something in the Bendix was broke. So I cracked down and asked how much a starter was he said 80 bucks for the reman looks at his computer again and says they have 1 brand new starter both with lifetime warranty's I asked to see the new one to compare to my starter because the remain one looked completely different, he goes and gets it and it looks just like my starter and made in japan I figure hell for 80 bucks and lifetime warranty I'll get it better then waiting a couple days and paying the 200 I was quoted from the dealer.

So got home installed it and bam everything works truck fires up way faster then before also. So I hope I don't screw anything else up in the electrical because of my starter.

Sorry no pics of today's project and thanks for listen to my ramblings here's my timing belt stuff and tranny cooler install. I'll get pics tomorrow when I do the throttle body gasket.

Well I have not updated this in awhile, probably due to no real updates other then enjoying the truck and storing parts away for the sas. Did blow my radiator up towing my Buddy's mk2 Vw gti home, the rad was really weather checked. I replaced it with a radiator out of a 98 tacoma 3rz, it sits a little higher above the frame rails so when I do a sas I don't have a lot to worry about hanging down. Plus the cost difference saved me a few bucks(that and having the fiance get almost half off working at O'Reillys)
Here's some pics from most recently.
Went camping with my neighbor and had some fun.

Then I went to sand lake for the day, first time my Fiancè ever went and my 11 month old. Needless to say they both loved it and that smile is what its all about!

nice job on the flag mount. I've always wondered how I'd mount one when the time comes. Simple and easy = awesome.

any specs on the hotrod? haha

Yeah I didn't want to spend money on a flag mount mainly because I didn't want any holes anywhere and plan on incorperating something into my bumpers when I get them.

63 Chevy nova, full frame, mustang 2 front end swap, narrowed rear 9" with the works full spool chromo shafts yadda yadda, 4 linked and tubbed in the rear, built th400 and just ported and rebuilt 454 under the hood. My dad and I installed the motor the car was originally built by his best friend back in the early 90s and he past away a few years ago so we took the car brought it back to life.
If you see in the corner junkyardkid its because this whole car was built from parts from the junkyard Lol besides the obvious fab stuff.

Well just picked up a 02 4runner to add to the family yay!
And i think mine got jealous because on our 3 hour drive home both lbj decided to go out (no failure just lots of play) and my string rack has fluid all over it.. Guess it's time to replace..

It's late and i have been driving 6 hours today so if anyone wants to Jeep me out with part numbers our brands for both upper and lower ball joints(don't know if moog is good our what and dealer will most likely be arm and leg) then i need to know what steering rack to get and if it comes with the tire rod ends? Thanks for anyone who can and will help.

Hers some specs on the 02 it's a sr5 190k miles just had full dealer 200k tune up brand new tires and mint interior, way more comfortable to drive then mine idk why lol, also has the tundra 199 upgrade i still need to get around to doing mine.

Damage report!

Well haven't up dated this in a little bit. Been busy with work/family/travel.

Just went and did a wheeling trip with a buddy of mine at tsf had a blast. I ended up folding my exhaust tip into my tire (pulled back with a strap) putting a dent in my rear bumper, and right by my tail light (can't see the tail light one unless your looking)
And then did something really stupid that made me really mad. Drove up and over a nice size stump in the trail and as the front tire came back down I landed on my rocker panel and bent it unto my door ever so slightly that it didn't want to open back up for me.. also ended up bending the body mount under the door as well..
The main reason that made me mad was because I built a set of sliders 3 months ago just have not had the time to put them on and was itching to get out on the trail.

Other then all that this was the first time I was on the trail since being supercharged and all I can say is wow I love it.
List of things I need to do now.
Finish rear disc swap (mud got into the drum and coming off the mtn they didn't want to work at all) do the 7th injector ecu(did great offroad but freeway there I was running lean under load) install sliders (duh)

that is why i will never wheel a rig without sliders... i did the same thing with my old runner FB5 and hit a rock, rear passenger door wouldnt open. the GX wont get any real wheeling in until it has sliders.

I got the damage on Rogers road. Not sure if you ever made it that far into browns but the trails rated for jeeps are sketchy. They are narrow. I started at browns staging area and went all the way to hogs back, through all of fire break(at least the ones that where open and I knew I could do) then kept going across the mtn and out through Rogers road

yeah ive been all over out there. the trails change from season to season, and the ratings never keep up. some are harder than they are rated, some are easier... they rating system out there is in serious need of overhaul.

Yeah a group I was in when I was younger used to maintain waterfall, can opener and everything I between. We never liked the diamond system and they tried to change it to a number system but that didn't stick.

The Rogers road trails are seriously in need of trail maintenance. All the damage I got happened on a moderate trail open for all, dirtbikes/quads/sxs/jeeps.. after making it about 100 yards into the trail it was so narrow I don't even think a sxs would of fit so we backed out of the trail and bypassed it.

UPDATE TIME

So since the last time I updated this some new changes have been done. And some are about to happen.
First is I finally installed my sliders, and then proceeded to wreck my truck... fml.. if only I could have been hit on the side where I had armor lol. Well insurance claimed it 50/50 and I don't have full coverage so the damages where mine to deal with.
The wreck involved bending the core support, pushing my fan through the radiator, breaking my headlight bucket and all front end pieces. So what does a man do when that happens? UPGRADES
2rz radiator (stops at the frame rails) 01/02 grill, sport hood (still waiting on buying insert) and soon to have aor plate bumper.

Also the fiances 02 exactly 8 days later after my little wreck we where at a stop light and a guy in a brand new 300c cut through a parking lot and rear ended us. Luckily all the damage was a small dent in the bumper and hatch. Most the impact was on the receiver. We had it all checked out and they cashed us out. So what does that mean? That's right goodies! Ended up ordering a 2.5" lift for her truck and finish off my suspension lift. (Superflex, new boss rear shocks) exited to see how these perform.
After I install my lift I am going to have to crank the coilovers up can anyone give me some measurements for what your running. And maybe some pictures of the alignment tabs to get it as close as it can be before driving to a alignment shop?
