G'Day guys

One of your members emailed me about this site so now I have another added to my favourites, LOL.

I guess its OK to post my 4Runner's details.

I have a 1991 Oz SR5 4Runner and its major change is a Mustang HO 5.0 V8 engine with about 350hp but also it has a host of other modifications and additions.

But I am not into "bling bling" so there's none of those, LOL as it's built for a purpose, but I do keep it in top condition.

I don't have many actual 4wd pics as its not easy to convince Helen to get out in the mud etc to take a pic. I like to do a bit of fishing whenever possible so it does get a fair bit of beach work.

I have only just updated this page and still have to finish a few projects and make a start on many others I have planned. It never seems to end, LOL.

Great looking engine bay. It looks like it was made by Toyota. Great job. Also the pics of of your rig in Australia are great.
 
Wow!! A Mustang engine in a 4Runner, that has to be a first for t4r.org. How fast can you do 0-60 in? You truck looks like it is in amazing shape.

Mark, I have no idea what a 0-60 time would be. But it smokes a V8 Grand Cherokee and they have a good power to weight ratio.

But it will cruise all day at 3000rpm, LOL.

160mph+:eek: your really not going that fast right?

If so are those tires speed rated for that speed?

That engine bay is clean . Did you move the master cylinder to the passenger side?

Mike, 165KPH which is about 105MPH. But you can only cruise at those speeds in one of our States as they have no speed limit, where this pic was taken.

I visited their a few years ago and was casually cruising at around 100mph and later got passed by what I suspect was a Ferrari (couldn't really tell as he was gone :) ) probably doing close to 300KPH. Man that thing was honking.

The MC, brakes etc are on the RHS, ie our drivers side your passengers side, :)
 
Just a note on my latest project which is to fab up another upper manifold but this time use 8 separate stacks. I'm setting it up on a spare engine so when its finished it can easily be swapped over.

This pic shows the basic parts but the final set up will be suitable for 4wd use etc.

I'm currently waiting for a Mallory distributor to be delivered from Summitt. This distributor has an option of a smaller cap which I need for clearance issues on the ram tubes.

If all goes to plan it should be done by early Feb.

First off, who ever decided to put that picture up for 4Runner of the month should be SHOT! :cannon:

He had some balls to post a picture of someone (with their 4Runner) sitting on a beautiful pure white sand beach, sun bathing in the middle of the winter (20 degree tonight)! It is a good thing he doesn't have a beer in his hand otherwise we would have hunt down GatorGreg and castrate him.

Well, I guess it is Summer down there. :cool: It is kind of mean to see those wonderful pictures of beach and sun, while were up here in the Northern Hemisphere freezing our asses off.

By the way ozrunner, congrats for being 4ROTM.:driving:

JD- So very glad you made it to our beloved forum, and congratulations on being the T4R of January 2006.

Here is some history on our interactions. I wrote him verbally drooling on his truck and smearing nose prints on my monitor trying to get closer to the truck. Hey, you've seen the pictures, can you blame me? Here is what I got in reply... Ironic I was reading this yesterday :)
