As DLAK said, majority will probably stay on the main route, with a select few breaking off to do the more difficult trails. I know several people that have done Gold Mtn in stock 4 runners but I do not recommend it as there are 3-4 spots that body damage would be likely. NO ONE will be left alone on the trail. Only exception is if they have to leave and we stop as a group, go over the map to make sure they know the route back to highway before they take off and ensure they have a phone number to call to verify they made it safely.

Jacoby Canyon be done 11-12 and can cut out from there, the rest of the trail taking our time and plenty of scenic photographs 3-5pm Good thing is there are plenty of options to get back to Highway if you need to split off. This is all assuming no Murphy.

Weather- High of 50 Low of 18 expect it to be around 30 when we arrive at 0800 probability of mud small patches of snow possible ice on the trails because they are on the North side of the Mtn and tend to shade it pretty well and keep it even if the other sides are bare.

I am in!!!!!
I add my self as #18. However I don't have all the listed items, for example Recovery Gear OR Snow chains.. How crucial are these items to the operation?!

I'm up here right now. There is very little snow on the ground. Looks like most of the snow is man made at the resort. There are patches off ice here and there, but it's pretty dry for the most part. This place is mostly a ghost town. Most people have stayed away due to low snow fall.

My concern is I don't have all the necessary equipment in the list of the OP.

REQUIREMENTS
Good Attitude.. I have !! :)
Snow chains(to meet CHP requirements on highway when travelling Mtns during winter) Don't have
Food and Water for 1-2 days(be prepared for Murphy) Can have
Good Attitude I have more of!!
Recovery gear(tow strap etc.) Don't have
Camera Have
Proper clothes for changing weather conditions,, have
Good Attitude
Chair, Toilet Paper standard stuff for being out.
Willingness to Learn, Listen and Help
Obey Tread Lightly principles


I only don't have a couple of the items, but might be the most important things.

If anyone is still reading this post, please let me know if I'm ok with out.. If not, i will have to skip this one.

you are fine without those. I made that list when it was looking like it might be snowing a couple weeks ago. There are enough of us with recovery gear that can compensate. Come enjoy the MTN and the beautiful views we will have tomorrow. Take a look at some of our gear and then can decide on what you need.

im meeting up Dlak at the McDonalds off of the 10FWY and Fairplex Dr exit in Pomona @ 6:00 AM if anyone is coming from the LA/SGV area and wants to roll together.
 
Thanks for a great run Pikeman, not as easy as I expected though. Left after lunch and took 3N32 to 3N16, then back down to Fawnskin via 2N09, there was a ton of ice on the trails, but didn't have any real trouble.

Had a blast also!!! I got a pizza to hold me over until dinner. Too bad we couldn't run gold mountain, now we have a future run and trail we have to do!!
 
great turnout guys good to meet everybody.

I got into some trouble in the ice luckly Edwin helped me out and took me back to the main road. thanks so much.

I now need to replace both my front axles, luckly I made it home still they are rattling like rocks in a tin can lol

and also items I need to get before my next offroad trip

it was nice meeting some new fellow members today. great turnout even though i thought i was going to slide off the icy trail and die at one point! lol

**special thanks to pikeman and the good samaritan in the dodge ram for getting us out of there.
