Jaos Center Protector R Install

Is the Magnaflow a full bolt-on exhaust system? I've been searching around and can't seem to find many manufacturers that carry a full exhaust system for the V8s. I'll definitely look into this one. Koz, is there a part number or something I can use when talking to a local dealer?

By the way, I've read this in several other posts, but does the spare still fit in the well after the exhaust is installed. Gonna need that spare, and you know the one time it's not there, you'll need it.

Thanks!!!

The Magnaflow cat-back system (Part # 15781) can be purchased from Performance Peddler, for $383 to your door. This system fits all 4th gen V8 4Runner (03-05 and should fit 06) without any problems. It mounts to OEM hangers and nothing else is needed. Does not come anywhere near the spare.

Koz, Jason B is right, Performance Peddler has it listed for $499. Did you get a deal on it?

Hope you don't mind if I ask a few more questions. How's the sound on the Magnaflow? I want a system with some growl to it, but I don't want it to be too loud...cops around here are begging for a reason to pull anyone over. And, from the pics on Performance Peddler, it doesn't look like a full exhaust system...seems to be missing a few pieces, so is it a partial?

Thanks in advance!

It sounds exactly like what you are looking for. My wife did not want me to put on a system that would be annoying. It has a nice deep tone under low/average acceleration. At full throttle it gets raspy but not as loud as under average acceleration. The faster you go (RPMs rising in top gear) the quieter and smoother it gets. I personally like a LOUD exhaust, but not on my Limited 4Runner. I think the Magnaflow has the mellowest sound of the aftermarket exhausts available. You will not have any problems with the man, as far as being too loud.

The Magnaflow cat-back system picture I posted is a complete system. The straight pipe with flange bolts up to the back of the cat (the system kit comes with 2 of these pipes, different lengths; I used the shorter one with the V8). The muffler attaches to the straight pipe and the tail pipe attaches to the back of the muffler (the system kit comes with 2 high quality stainless 1

Well, I've opted for the Battlez exhaust. I want to splurge a bit for my baby...she worth it. Anyway, I got it today, but made the mistake of trying to install it myself, and found out very early that the bolts are way on there. So needless to say, I didn't get very far. I'm going to try and duck out of work early to get it installed.

Fellas! I got the BattleZ exhaust installed today. Somewhat disappointed that the sound was not really there. I hear it, but it's somewhat quiet. I hope it gets loud once I put more miles onto it. I like the looks, and it has a simple elegance to it, but again, wished it was a bit louder. I'm glad I took it to the shop. I was watching the guy do it, and it took him a bit of effort to get the bolts off. There was no way I would have been able to remove the bolt flat on my back under the car.

Now I got to think of the next mod. Any suggestions? I only have new bulbs in the headlamp and foglights, a navigation system, center protector, and the exhaust. I need a project! Ha!

I was going to try the rear fog lights from one of the other threads. Bought all the parts, but I'm going to take my time with that one.

New to this board but would love to see pics of your Jaos-ed out 4runner.

Not sure if the last posting went through...there seems to be frequent time when the load is heavy on the server and I can't tell if my posts when through or not.

Anyhoo, I'm posting a couple of pics. They're not the best since I haven't taken any lately. Hope these will do for now.

Not bad. I LOVE my Jaos stuff!

Is it too quiet for you? It's kinda quiet for me. Tell me it gets louder as I put more miles on it. Do you know if Jaos is coming out with the rear skid bar for the 4th generation runners?

Did anyone know that once you delete the image in "edit" mode that you can't attach another picture?

Sorry, had to repost the picture...

Does the Jaos Center Protector shakes or vibrates while on?Does anyone know the size of the bolts holding the protector? I found this site that may be helpful in finding an anti-theft bolt or conbination bolt and nut that can prevent the Jaos from being stolen :Danti-theft bolts tamper proof bolts

There are many bolts in the CPR, i don't know which one u are referring to, but most of them can be obtain at any local hardware stores. :)

Basically the bolts holding the two chrome parts together and the two bolts that hold the chrome parts to the bracket. Do the instructions tell you what size bolts are they?

I think those are M8. or M10, not sure. You can bring the bolt those to any hardware store and match up.
