Anyone visited Japan recently and have any advice?
I am going for 8 days but have three free days, business occupies others. I hope to find the time to tour the "Tahara Plant" home of our babies. but am scheduled to tour the motomachi plant.
can't wait any advice appreciated,
staying in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture.

Get the JR pass (1 week pass for foreign visitors). This give you unlimited access to the rail system which will help you travel wherever you want. It's like $400 usd? not sure as it's been a few years now (Check on google).

Places to check out:
Kyoto
Kobe
Tokyo

Those are 3 great cities to check out (2 thumbs up).

Akihabara in Tokyo is the Electronics capital for new stuff. A bit pricy but worth just looking around. They have several stations that outlets to that entire city so check that out if you're into electronics.

O yeah, Frommers and Fodor's are great books to read up too.

Looks like where in the chuo-ku for 3 days. Should be interesting. I haven't got the foggiest idea where that is...

The thing that stinks is work keeps me busy, so I really havn't been looking at the sites that would really interest me. i.e. race tracks like the twin ring motegi, jgtc racing, where to get some real helix surf hid's

Get the pass. I don't remember it being that expensive but the exchange rate has changed a BUNCH since 2002.
