I'm finally going to pull the trigger. Is there any reason not to go with JBAs?
Is there a legitimate competitor at the $475 price range?
I've ruled out SPC b/c of feedback here plus I want to be able to have my alignment done anywhere and not worry about the tech reading up on how to adjust SPCs (that may be an unwarranted worry).

Can't say that I can fully agree with that statement. While the UCAs may be good quality, for me the customer service was terrible. For weeks I left multiple VMs and 2 emails about some questions on the arms. Never once did I get a return call or email. Screw that dude and I'll wait and catch some SPC UCAs whenever someone runs a sale on them.

Agreed, I've sent multiple emails with no response. Cant say I'm too happy about the customer service. As soon as Dobinsons gets some uca's back in stock I'm ditching the JBAs

Personally I'd rather spend more on a product with great customer support. Total reason I chose to go with Kings or Fox.

That has been my experience as well. Kind of felt there was to much info when purchasing. Still get follow up emails telling me to grease the ball joints.

It's pretty crazy the difference responses from people about JBA. Two days ago I literally sent them an email with 2 pictures attached as I had a question about my UCA's. This was at 4:00pm and I had an email at 7:05pm the same night. I've never had to call because my issue wasn't that pertinent, but when i email [email protected] I get a response within a day at the longest. A lot of people like their SPC UCA's. I just went JBA because of the simplicity and me not having to teach an alignment tech what the adjustments were and so forth. Of course you can set them and tell them don't touch them and just use the LCA's to align as usual. I just kept it simple, got my caster dialed in for 285/70 and no BMC... basically the JBA's did the job for me.

The variation in responses is interesting. A buddy who runs a shop just helped me diagnose a clunk in the front end and he showed me the passenger side UCA ball joint had a ton of play in it with no resistance at all to movement. I just got the JBA's installed about a month ago, so I called them up and explained what happened and now I have a replacement ball joint being delivered in a couple of days.

This contrasts to when I sent them email(s) asking about the rubbing issue I was having and how much material was OK to take off the shoulders. I never got a reply.

Hit or miss I guess.

I sent them some pictures and an email of my ball joints (both are loose after ~10k miles) and never got a response. They are adjustable - so you tighten the top cap to keep the right preload on them. It's a good design. But they're so rusty after a year that they're not adjustable anymore. The whole point of ball joints is low maintenance and long service life, so I'm not going to replace with the same ball joints. I'm going to try the mevotech offroad series. Hopefully they have a little longer lasting boot on them. I was surprised I didn't receive any response. Otherwise I don't have much complaint. They're a well designed product that uses easy to source parts. I'd still buy them again.

This is my boot currently (I touched up the red paint so that's why there's overspray on the bolts holding the ball joint in)

[MENTION=118321]Jetboy[/MENTION] do you consider this an abnormal amount of rust? Do you think a more expensive brand would have not rusted this much?
I've never had aftermarket UCAs so I don't know what to expect.
