i added a sirius radio with fm modulater, played with the audio output which i maxed out.when i turned my stereo volume up i got a loud pop and now have only a bit of souund from the surround speaker and front tweeters.did i blow the amp as i suspect? any ideas would be greatly appreciated as tearing the amp out looks like a ton of work and hassles.

I would assume you checked the fuse for the amp? There should be a separate fuse for this.

if that is not the case, your could have burned the wires, worse case scenario, you blew amp, but thats very unlikely.

If he blew the fuse, he would hear no sound...

I would imagine you blew the speakers, or even the amp... Time to take apart the doors and check!

Hmmm, you blew up or out something......perhaps a crossover! It could be as simple as a wire coming loose or ground out somewhere.

It's probably a little late...........but it sounds like the input of the amp was too high. Most amplifiers receive a line-level signal and output a high-level signal. The input side if the amp is usually not very solid. The bad news is that factory amp will cost you $$$$$ and you will not find an aftermarket amp designed for the goofy 10 speaker system in the Limited. You might want to hit up the scrap yard. One good thig about the scrap yard 4Runner is that amp will be so proprietary that it will probably be available. As mentioned before it's probably too late for the original post but the next guy might have better luck.
