JBL 6CD In-Dash changer CD problem

Long time lurker here. I have an '04 4Runner Sport Edition with the 10 speaker JBL Synthesis system.

Tonight I ran into a bit of a problem. The CD load/unload mechanism seems to be having big problems. It doesn't load them nor does it eject them. I took the unit out of my dash (a real PITA to do that BTW) and looked the unit over. Even plugged it back into my truck w/the top cover off and yeah.. its got problems! The motor just doesn't seem to be able to load nor eject the CD anymore. (crap)

My choices are to either to try fixing it (not sure if that's doable), replace it with the same, or go aftermarket.

First, does anyone have advice on how to fix the factory unit?

If not, plan B - replace the darned thing.. and on that does anyone have any recommendations on head units that marry well with the 10 speaker system? I'm not looking for Navigation, but if I could get Bluetooth, MP3 CD support, and AUX in that would be a huge plus.

Thanks in advance,

David

06 runners and up have bluetooth and aux input (i think), but its probably better to go aftermarket. Sounds like your load/eject mechanism is fried, I don't think that can be repaired easily.

my 07 sport has the aux input in the consloe but I have not found any signs of bluetooth. I have the jbl 10 speaker as well.

I get that feeling too.. just want to find something that integrates nicely with 1. The 10 speaker sound system and 2. Doesn't involve me cutting all kinds of holes in my dash.. something that will install "cleanly".
