JBL amp bypass, front distortion help!!!

Ok I installed a pioneer 7500 head unit and added the 4 channel amp to power the speakers. I succesfully have the rear door and rear tweaters working for the rear 2 channels, but they sound better then the front speakers.

The fronts are distorting no matter how low the amp is. I taped into the the jbl harness at the amp, because thats were I put this amp. I read in another thred that if I tap the front speakers at the I02 plug (or something like that) located in the front passenger kick pannel, that this problem will be fixed.

Is this true?? Quick responce would be great cause the whol left side of the car has no trim.

You can't run new speaker wire up to the doors and the rears? the best way is to do that.

The quick way is the passenger side rear harness. However that just isn't the best sound quality that you are looking for.

well, I originaly tapped into to the factory harness at the connector to te factory amp. the rears sound fine the fronts are distorted. then in this post

I think others with the JBL 10 speaker system have swapped out headunits and still used the factory speakers, so I don't think that is the issue. I guess tapping into the wires doesn't exactly work - not sure why. It seems like most of the people have completely run new wires.

So I ran new wires to the front to the IO2 connector, and the same problem is there. I have a basic 4 channel 45 watt amp. saposadly the picture shown is were other people are taping in to and not having distortion.

SOME BODY WHO HAS DONE THIS PLEASE HELP!!!!

I'm the one who tapped into the IO2 connector. I experienced the same problem you are having with distortion. I had to disassemble the cargo area and disconnect the factory amp in order to get the problem to go away. I just pulled out both factory harnesses from the amp (I think there's 2) and left them there unconnected. Now my speakers sound fine, no distortion.

all the factory stuff is already out. I have my after market stuff is mounted back there

I don't have an amp in my setup, just using the headunit. I'm not sure what the problem is. If you have an extra pair of speakers lying around, you may try hooking them up directly to the amp where the fronts are now and see if there is any distortion. This will at least help narrow down the problem.

i just removed the radio no.2 fuse , then fix it , coz it does not power up the amp , and sound good now , so dont have re & re the cargo panel to disconnect the connection from the amp

Here is an observation: from the FSM I see two wires that power the two rear doors. This means that they are wired in parallel, I think. But the front door speakers have two wires for each door. These front speakers do not share the same circuit. One complete circuit for each front door. Therefore there are six speaker wires total coming out of the OME amp. Does your amp have 4 pairs or eight wire outputs?

Actually there are eight wires that come out of the factory amp, but 2 of them are for the center channel; which does not play a factor in your problem, at least I do not believe it to be. Anyway you get my point about the rear speakers being wired totally different from the front ones.

already found the problem, the aftermarket amp had a bad channel
