JBL Amp Dimensions in 4Runner

Does anyone have the dimensions for the amp in the 4Runner with the JBL Synthesis system(having rear pillar and center speaker)? And those that have upgraded did you just use the front and rear doors and sub, and not use the center speaker and rear pillar speakers. Unless you are running a 5.1 system for movies the center area would be great for sirius and nav antennas. And the rear pillar speakers are most likely useless.

Hey what's happening! The amp itself is 9"x6"x1 9/16". The mounting points for the amp are 3 3/4" apart on the end nearest the sub and 3 1/8" apart on the other end. Lengthwise between the two ends the points are 10 3/4" apart. That's if you want to use the factory mounting holes on the sub.
I put in all the speakers except the center speaker. They are all factory components. I used a 2005 JBL single disc HU, made my own cable, and interfaced with the original HU plugs. The only thing I didn't add is the JBL Synthesis lettering on the front door speakers and of course the center speaker.

Great...thanks. Looks like the Alpine is quite a bit bigger, so under the seat it will go.

You might want to look at how this member did his.

It looks like a much larger amp.

Yeah, it looks like he cut up his box tho to get that amp to fit and I don't really want to do that. Maybe if I can find a spare box at the junkyard, then yeah I would do it. I'll have to look up the specs on that amp to see the dimensions. That one is more rectangular while the Alpine is more square so it still may not fit.

My next question is...stock HU...I searched here and TS and can't find any posts that have pics of the JBL Synthesis rear plugs. Reason I ask...
1. Going to add TOY-SC1 and SC-C1 for Sirius. That will take up the AM-SAT button
2. Want to add a PA15-TOY for Ipod integration. I THINK this goes off the Aux button on the radio.
3. THEN, I want to add a Parrot bluetooth kit with their wiring harness and CK3100. I just wonder if their wiring kit would piggyback one of the above or it splices in to another. I'm trying to look at pics and see where each would plug in.

EDIT:::: And it looks like the Pioneer amp is 12"x8"x2.25", while the Alpine is 10 3/16" x 8 3/8" x 2.5". So it's a TAD bigger on the width side and depth side which are the two places it can't be it seems. But is almost 1/2" and 1/4" going to be an issue? Time to call the junkyards!

Well you have a later HU than mine as I don't have the aux button. However the plugs in the rear are the same and the PA-15 Toy is foolproof as you can't plug it in the rear any way but right.

Yeah, I'm just wondering if I'd be able to hook all three of those up. I wonder if my "AM/SAT" button goes to one plug(where the TOY-SC1 would go), the "CDC/AUX" button goes to another plug(where the PA-15 would go), and then the BT would hook into the main harness and the speaker harness.

Guess there is only one way to find out! :)
