Hey to all, know I'm gonna catch hell for this. I want to remove the JBL bass speaker in the right rear panel of my 4Runner. Can I do this with no adverse effect on the rest of the system? I want the extra storage space. thanks for the help, CSM-H

How much space is that going to get you? Doesn't seem like it is worth it for the amount of extra space you will get.

Sharp4runr, hey thanks, looks pretty straight forward. although looking at it, if my amp is connected to the bass' box what I want to do may not be possible. In the SR5 without JBL there is a rather "large" storage space there. I can see taking the speaker out but if the "mount" or "box" doesn't come out it won't work....oh well it was an idea. thanks again, CSM-H

I don't know why removing it would be an issue, truthfully it doesn't put out much BASS anyways!!!!!!

Here are some instructions that you may find usefull: http://www.castulucci.com/projects/carpc/oemnaviecuaccess/

yes you can take it out, you do loose the sound, don't forget. You can even order a non JBL rear panel with the storage box and cover, I think it ran in the $350sh area. (I think)

Hey thanks for the heads up, I do understand the "sound" will be gone. $350 for the panel, yikes!! I may just leave well enough alone. CSM-H
