I want to replace my 6 speaker sound system in my 04 sr5 to a 10 speaker Jbl system.......can this be done?

Yes but it isn't financially prudent to. Do a search. It's been discussed, what components are needed.
Just go aftermarket. You'll end up with a better package at the end, for probably cheaper.

the only reason it would be worth it was if you were planning on adding the the toyota nav unit. Other than that, as previously posted it isn't worth it really. I originally had an 04 sr5 non jbl and no I have the jbl 10 speaker setup in my newer runner and it didn't sound much much better. However, I did install the JBL amp and harness to the rear w/ the stock speakers (not JBL 10 speaker) and it sounded great. Great, but not awesome considering you can go any route aftermarket or JBL from where you are at. If you are really interested in that swap hit me up and I can help you out
