I replaced the front speakers with infinity reference 6.5 components and they sound fantastic with the JBL headunit.

BUT, I did add an Infinity amp to power them with speaker-level inputs. It took a breaking in period with the tweeters, but after about a week, they sound very sharp and crisp without too much distortion and noise.

In hindsight, the only thing I'd do differently is that I would have just gotten the 5x7 reference components instead of the 6.5"s since they're already 6x9's in the font. The front bottom speakers don't do too much anyway. Its all about the tweeters.

I hope this info helps.

my 04 has a speaker in the middle of the dash...any idea what size that is?
and the front doors have a speaker at the top and one on the bottom...any idea of the sizes?

what about the rear?? I'm supposed to have 10 speakers, I just got the 04 so I really havent located all of them yet.

Speaker location and sizes

The fronts are 6X9's on the bottom with tweeters up top. Here's a list of all the speakers.

1. Front center
2. Left front tweeter
3. Rt front tweeter
4. Left front 6x9
5. Rt front 6x9
6. Left rear door 6.5
7. Rt rear door 6.5
8. Left back corner
9. Rt back corner
10. Subwoofer

8 and 9 are not in stereo. And all 10 speakers give a clear, yet very low powered sounds. High's are not crisp. Low's are not strong or tight. The speaker location gives some options for upgrading though. I hope this clears things up.
