Jeep Grand Cherokee Rocks! BCM programming

Had an '05 Cherokee........here it is now. T-boned a guy that pulled out in front of me while I was doing about 55mph Luckily I didn't get hurt. The Jeep did a great job protecting me and speading out the impact. That happened Nov. 15 of last year. I owned the Jeep for about a year and hated it. I had it in the shop for the torque converter about 10 times right after I bought it. Also, it had the 3.7 engine, and like you said, it was a dog. No where near enough power. Gas mileage was about the only good thing about it. But it still wasn't great. I purchased my 04 4Runner SR5 shortly after the accident and fell in love with it. I have the 4.0 and it's plenty of power. The ride is so much smoother than the Cherokee. You felt every little bump in that thing. Anyhow, I do agree with you though that Toyota needs to go to the same type of BCM programming on the 4Runner. It's all about personal preferences. Anyhow, I feel the accident happened for a reason and I'm glad I'm in the 4Runner now and no longer in the Jeep.

Jeeps are fun. I have owned two for 24 consecutive years. The straight six engine is bullet proof. However, the 4.7 L and the Hemi are the only true engines with power. The problem is that the reliability (with everything other than the engines) is poor at best; which is why I purchased a 4runner.
The 3.7L was developed for the Liberty, as it has a shorter hood and it replaced the in-line six.
If anyone here owns a Jeep with electrical issues, then please shoot me a pm. I consider myself a solid sensor trouble-shooter on O2 sensors, MAP, CTS, etc. I have disconnected every sensor and test driven the Jeep for observation. I have also plotted graphs for resistance and voltage vs time for many of the sensors.
I plan on doing the same for the 4runner as soon as I get more time. I have already purchased a scanner for the 4runner and have recorded baseline

Jeep's reliability is what kept me far away from getting an SRT-8.
like i've said in the past... my better half owns an '06 Jeep GC Laredo and it's been solid. her '01 was too. nary a problem with either... no electrical, no brakes, no tranny problems, nothing.
driving & feature wise the '06 is a HUGE improvement over the '01. i like her truck a lot actually, but it still leaves a lot to be desired.
she has the V6 and it's so-so... has nothing on either of my trucks, but it does fairly well at high speeds. if i were to get a GC i'd probably opt for the 5.7L.
