I would never own a Jeep, but my girlfriend owns a 04 GC and it is an alright SUV. It has nothing on my moms 03 t4r, but decent for what she needs. My stepdad just sold an 82 Jeep Scrambler and that thing was awesome. I don't like the wranglers at all, but the Scrambler was so much fun to drive and the perfect summer vehicle. It was a sad day when it was sold. My mom cried and my stepdad teared up.

Yeah it was awesome. Half the electronics didn't work on it, but driving around that thing during the summer with the back seat was great. It was our work horse and I dubbed it the scrambagel. We sold to a guy who has 4 sons, so it will be loved and wheeled in the future.

I like Wranglers -- I've even owned two in the past. I'm hoping to pick up an LJ in the future but only as a fun vehicle since they didn't pan out for me as a daily driver.

The Compass, what a terrible thing to put the Jeep name on.

The Wrangler and new GC I do like.

The true Jeeps died in 1986, and went downhill from there. I had an 82 Renegade I never should have sold.....hard times, desperate measures. I then had a 2000 XJ, and it was a great SUV, and did fairly well off-road stock, but it was no true Jeep. Chrysler should be ashamed of what they did to Jeep....or should we blame the people who buy them and make the legacy die?

I don't think you can have an honest poll result unless you separate and specify the AMC and Chrysler Jeep brands. my two cents.

yes we should just because college girls and moms like to have wind blowing through their hair while going to the mall doesnt mean the company have to change the car to meet their need.

For me this is a loaded question. Jeep is to all-encompassing for me. I own two Jeeps right now, a 2011 Grand Cherokee and a 1969 CJ-5. I LOVE them both. Chrysler did a fantastic job with the new Cherokee.

Now -

AMC Jeeps - SUCK (without major mods)

Early Chrysler Jeeps SUCK (they were resurecting and looking in all the wrong areas)

I think the new Jeeps are pretty darn good. (i'm only talking GC and Wrangler)

My 69 is built by Kaiser - it's an unstoppable tank Been over the Rubicon and Sierra Trek multiple times. 40K original chassis miles, 8K drivetrain. It's brand new really

Earlier was built by Willys and I've got on of these as well, CJ3B. It's even more of a tank, 16 leaf springs, 5:38 gears and a little four banger that could. This was a farm vehicle so if you can buy this, it's got 15K miles.

So yeah, I love these Jeeps, but you can keep all your AMC stuff and early Chrylser crap.

I like real Jeeps and some of the Grand Cherokees but they are so common especially here in Colorado. I'm not a big fan of Wranglers wearing tires from a Civic (passenger cars) which i see alot of around here too.

The Compass,Patriot and Liberty are somewhat of a joke and can't stand those vehicles.

I don't mind Jeeps. It's the owners I can't stand. 9 out of 10 Jeep owners I meet are arrogant asses. We passed a group of Jeeps once and many of them made snide remarks to anyone with their windows down. That being said, I also wheel with a few Jeep owners and my step-dad owns one.

i know what ur talking about, every single person i met with a 4runner are always nice, but not them jeep guys, one of them actually made fun of me because im asian, drives a 4runner and has support our troops and an american flag sticker on my spoiler.

Here is my baby , did a ground up resto on it , even did my own paint , Viper Yellow . This is pre-custom bumpers . REAL Jeep metal , no fiberglass crap ! A lot of hours went into this thing .

It does seem that is a sizeable percentage of Jeep and Mustang guys thta harbor ill feeling toward most other brands especially Japanese cars and trucks.
I spent about 8 years racing my Mitsu Eclipse and it was always the Mustang guys that distanced themselves from the other groups and hardly would associate with an import owner. Now the other groups, including Camaro/Firebird,Corvette and even the Dodge crowd seemed alot more ready to be accepting of simply a fast car no matter what it was,Mustang guys for the most part seemed to just hate.

Mostly the problem with atitude from Jeep guys is on the street more than on the trail. On the trails it seems to be much more comraderie going on save for a few douches that bring their egos along.
I encountered an obstacle that a Jeep owner acted as a guide and got me through but in this group of about 10 Jeeps about half were doubting my nearly stock 4Runner would even come close and a couple even moaned when I got over it probably because a couple of the stock Wranglers and one modded one struggled a bit.
It was a proud moment for me.
