I have a few friends with the new JL Wrangler or interested in buying one. Reading about the steering problems and weld porosity problems is disturbing. Scary stuff. Here's some weld problem pics. Not sure how widespread the welding problem has spread. Early and late build JL Wrangler frames affected. I have an old 93' Wrangler that has no frame weld problems despite many years of hard Offroad service.

Lol do we need to talk about the last couple of decades that Toyota frames have been rotting in half? Every brand of vehicle has quality issues

Apparently this isn't unique to Jeep, Ram suffers from this too. This poor guys truck came with chrome trim on one side and black trim on the other. LOL

I'd chalk it up to high demand with a customer base that doesn't prioritize reliability and/or quality control. At least that's how I see it. I'll always want a Jeep but the stories keep me away...

I have an old Jeep. I love driving it off-road. Briefly looked at the JK's. Quality was so so on them. I had Lemon Law'd a KL Cherokee. Just couldn't take the chance on the JL Wrangler.

Great, now you guys have me afraid to go look under my '17. Maybe after Thanksgiving when I change the oil...

I reckon it can't be much worse than the rust that was holding up the trans skidplate on my '99 TJ. I was able to get 4 new nutserts (of 6) installed. I think 3 of them may have had a decent amount of metal to hang on to. I possibly could have seen a couple through the hole in the passenger side floorboard.

Better than the trackbars coming off brand new Wranglers due to shitty welds.

The quality of the frame welds on all of the new Wranglers is criminal.
