Jeep Seats in a Gen 1.

So I just spent some time searching 3 pages of "seats" threads and got a lot of ideas. Local to me there is a nice set of Jeep wrangler seats. Just wondering if anyone has seen these in a 4runner? I'm not concerned about fabbing a mounting system. More concerned with overall dimensions. I know the wrangler is narrow like our trucks. Once nice thing is that the jeep seats fold way the hell forward for rear access but I know the geometry of how that happens makes them go up. Wondering if we have the head clearance for that. The jeep also has a deeper floor so I wonder if the bracketry is too tall to fit in our little trucks. Thoughts?

Honda Civic coupe or hatch seats (EG Body style, Mid 90's) work great. The gray color matches well if you've got gray. Fronts bolt right in, rears are easy to match up. Height is good and the passenger's goes all the way forward.

Frontier/Pathfinder (Also mid 90's) Are really close too, same story, fronts bolt right in, some finicking to mount/level the rear.

I need to replace mine as well, but my problem is all the seats I find at the junkyard are thrashed. Is there a source for getting then "new" or restored for a reasonable price so I can get some that bolt in without having to fab all new brackets? The racing seats (Corbeau) are just not worth the $ for me.

My driver's seat is ripped in the typical spots for a 20+ year old 4runner with close to 200K. It has also reclined one me a few times while driving like the ratchet mechanism was about to die. Not a good thing to happen I had looked around for a good replacement but no luck finding one that was cheaper than what I paid for this thing

Several years ago I installed a set of 96'ish Prelude seats in the Trekker. I had replaced those with a set of suspension seats. Attempted to sell the Prelude seats and even tried to give them away..No luck, they sat in the garage for a few years. They are still in great shape so I busted out the tape measure.
busted out the tape measure...front mounts were 16.75" on the 4Runner seat

hmmm...Prelude seat front mounts are 16.75"

i throw the seats in the 4Runner to test fit..the inside mount for the prelude mount of course hits the seat belt mount causing it to cock the seat at the wrong angle


At first i thought about picking up some camry or corolla latches that would mount to the seat rail similar to the prelude latch. I was gonna have to make a mount to the inside rear corner any way, so I cut that sucker off and mount the seat
pretty cool that the stock front mounts work perfect
outside rear mount will get extended tomorrow with some flat stock. Inside rear should be a simple 'L' bracket.

Nice thing about using Acura Integra, Honda Civic or Prelude seats is that the seats are usually readily available

Yep, the fabric you have there on the doors is nearly a dead on match to some seats we pulled out of a civic coupe, if you didn't know Toyotas well you'd think it can that way. The prelude seats look good, just a little off from the usual. We did the pathfinder seats and console in an 86 single cab, they look great being the only fabric piece in the truck. Really there are a ton of options out there if you go looking, even a lot of nice leather in the Nissans. unfortunately there hasn't been a single good match for blue interior I've seen.

I just did the heated seats. But I'm different than probably everyone else. I found a heated seat cover and cut the heating element out of it. then mounted into my seat. But rather than putting it in the bottom to heat my but I put it in I put it in the back to help heat up my lower back due to back pain. its nice!
