Jerry Cans (gas cans)

Finding a good quality Jerry Can is difficult these days. Most are cheap plastic. Even the good steel ones have cheap plastic nozzles and caps. This isn't going to cut it when wheeling. There are two REAL options.
One is the Scepter MFC (Military Fuel Can). They are awesome. They are made from a thick plastic and can take a beating. They are hard to come by. They can be bought on ebay but most look pretty beat up.
The second option is the old steel NATO can. They can be bought used but can be trashed too. There are some reproductions but they are made with a thinner steel. After doing some searching they are being made by the original mfg to the same specs. This Deutsche Optik;Optics and Military Collectibles:Binoculars, military binoculars, rangefinder, compass, nautical antiques, ships clocks, magnifiers, militaria, military watches, Optolyth, Ollech & Wajs, Sinn, pocket watch and military surplus is where you get the real cans.

I just ordered a set of 4 (that is how they come).

My review will follow.

Arb, Baja Racks, and Front Runner make roof top Jerry Can holders, but they are expensive...$120 plus. I plan on building my own with parts from the hardware store.
