It already looks much better with the Sandias in the background.

Still trying to trade the Camry in for an FJ or 4runner but I swear I've never had to work so hard for dealerships to get back in touch with me. Bleh..enough thread takeover from me :)

This is by far my favorite 4runner on the forum, I would of liked buying one already MOD'd out for me, so Sick!!!

From an App St fellow to a GA Southern guy- you'll get through the hard times with another sick build! Hang in there Brother!

I am sure that he misses the runner, but I am also sure that he is putting together something for a new build. No way he can stay away from it:frog:

your truck is like my sister truck

Very similar to my rig. Although I will be sticking with my 31" tires and no snorkel - I enjoy my 18 MPG.
.
Seconded:
this is like a adoption lol
It is the kind of build that many guys would dream of doing and the PO did a great job. I don't know if you can really "build" onto it. What more is there left to do?

This is a nice rig, I am sure it is a great buy.

No hard feelings; it is indeed a little weird but I've accepted it. I am in the middle of negotiations with my local dealer for a 07 black 4runner to start all over :) I should have it by next week if all works out.

With that said, lets close me out of further discussion on here seeing how this now belongs to someone else. Lets give him the (sur)real feeling of community enlightenment. I will continue mine for sure :) James, best of luck to you and always looking forward to what's in store.

electrical difficulty

Well, got pulled over by sheriff early yesterday morning :police:. He said that my tail lights were out, but my brake lights were working. I thought something was strange, because my dash lights were out that morning as well. So, going to have to postpone starting on bumper this weekend and try to figure out this electrical issue. I hate electrical problems, because the root cause can be anywhere.:bash:

Check your fuses, and wiring to hitch/trailer. I had the same thing happen to my old Honda Element, pulling a motorcycle trailer. The pigtail on the trailer had some insulation torn off and two of the wires grounded out. Blew my fuse for the dash and taillights. I was on the road at night and had 150 miles to go before stopping. Next morning I started looking around and traced the wires to the problem spot. Bought some new wire, connectors, elec tape and fixed it in the mini mart parking lot before driving into death valley.:keyboard:

Hope yours is as easy to solve as mine.
Josh

I had a very similar issue, but the reverse. My tail lights worked but not my brake lights. Since you have the same lights I did (the 01-02 OEM tails), the problems could be related. I didn't want to go through my whole lighting system to find it, so first try to fix it was to just get new tail lights. That is when I got the LED tails I have now. Problem fixed.

I'm not saying this is the problem for sure, but maybe pick up a set from a junkyard and test if they work. Could just be a bad pair of lights you have.

fuse is located under the hood.

I had a similar issue awhile back. I was messing with my stereo wires and shorted the positive 12v and my dash and rear driving lights went out.

okay, so.....after what 7 hours of pulling wires that were running to......no where. I found to shorts, one in the passenger side tail light (had actually blackened the wire), the other in the drivers side corner light. Had so much fun today.......found an after market viper alarm system under the drivers side dash (was not working, and had several exposed wires) I am surprised it was not the culprit. Re-wired some of the stereo, re-ran the main power for stereo. Removed the CB radio and all the wiring that was involved with it. I would have taken pictures of the whole ordeal, but I was so frustrated  I just didn't feel like it. I had the dash off, all the kick panels and side panels and carpets up...... this is what I feel like now :whipping2

Fuse under the hood called TAIL 10AMP

Mines blown like 20 times, I finally said F-it and put in a 15 amp.

It controls the interior lights, front marker lights, and tail lights.
