Job Opportunities?

Hi all,

I don't mean to hijack the forum but here goes:

I am looking to relocate to Colorado or North Carolina but I need a job first - feed the family and all that. I live in South Florida and wheeling activities are sorely lacking here. My wife and I love the outddors and the mountains, hence the location choice.

I am currently working as a firewall / network security engineer with about 8 years experience in IT. If anyone knows of open positions that would be appropriate, please PM me.

Thanks so much.

There is an area in NC called the "Research Triangle"

IT work shouldn't be a problem to find in that kind of area.

yea "research triangle park" aka "RTP" if you hear anyone talking about RTP, thats what it is. Also a great place to work with lots of openings.

Most major employers have job listings on their web sites. RTP has lots of technology companies (and it's a nice area, too). IBM has a major location in Boulder, so you could check there, too.

I've been in IT for 14 years or so and I've never seen the job market quite this bad. I ended up starting my own consulting business because I was "overqualified" or didn't have a strong enough background in the right area. Since you specialize in network security you'd probably have a better shot than a generic mcse but you'll still have to use every resource you can from monster (it sux i know) to localized yellow pages, bulk resumes, sunday classifieds, the whole 9 yards. You might check out some of these cities:

there's not too many of them I'd even think of moving to except maybe Albuquerque or Salt Lake. Good luck.
