Joining the club just got a 99 limited

Hey guys great forum you have here , just purchased a 99 4 runner limited has the locking rear diff 4 wd , put the xsp 20" enkei on it from the tundra . Paid 1k for it 190k on it rusty but in fair shape had a windshield leak and mold all throughout the interior although the leather is still soft and in good shape miraculously . Trans wouldn't pull got it fixed . A couple questions if anyone could help please .. Sunroof won't move even removed Moter and tried ... Any way to get it open so I can make sure its the Moter .. It does move just possibly to weak to move the sunroof? . And any suggestions on what to clean mold off seatbelts with? Will post pics soon

Also need I do the rotors pads shoes drums probably axle seals timing belt water pump tune up trans cooler and figure out what's up with the gas gauge . Awesome truck though

I think my last 10 posts or so on this forum have been about the Tundra brakes upgrade, so maybe I'm sounding like a broken record. However, if you're already going to replace pads and rotors, you might as well upgrade the front to Tundra brakes. Stock brakes are wimpy. Upgrade typically costs most people around ~$300 or so. It's completely worth it.

You won't need the lines. You'll just get pads, rotors, and calipers for a 2005 Tundra. Bigger calipers will bolt right up. You'll have to trim the dust shield back a little (I used some heavy duty "Cutco" scissors). Other than that it is pretty much plug 'n' play.

Thanks alot I'm gonna do that because they are shaking extremely bad and I don't want to put multiple sets of rotors on it if its a common problem

Just a side note before you order the tundra brakes.... here is a link to the most informative thread on this forum about them.

In short, some 4Runner wheels wont fit over the larger caliper (231mm), but most all will fit over the smaller Caliper (199mm). Simple solution: what kind of wheels do you have?

He said in his first post, "XSP 20" Enkei" wheels. They will certainly fit those 231mm brakes. They are 20" first of all, and 2nd of all, they are Tundra wheels, and he would be installing Tundra brakes... He should be good.

And thank you Dutch for hyperlinking that thread. It is extremely informative. Probably all this OP needs actually.

Thanks alot guys gonna get the brakes done ASAP thanks for the link... Removed the sunroof Moter but still can't get the sunroof open ... Changed the trans filter and flushed need to add a cooler ASAP .. Since mine has the milkshake 100%

So work needed power steering lines ( wont even hold fluid) possibly rack.. Tundra brakes ac switch ) leaking low side line already added dye). Get key fob working timing belt water pump plugs crank cam seals and hope the trans holds up for awhile since it wouldn't pull at all when I got it due to the milkshake .. Thanks for the info .. And would love suggestions on mods ( cheap mods )
