Joshua Tree, Grand Canyon, Palm Springs

Anyone out that way want to go off road and take me along?
My beast will be getting “medical attention “ but I’ll be out that way on spring break trying to find funnand adventure.
Rather do it with the 4R crew cuz I know y’all are funner than most.
Lemme know if up for adventures.

Cool. One of my friends who is in SD was telling me about this.
I'm currently furiously booking hotels and stuff along the way from here to PHX. Then it's all about me and Adventures and stuff.

I really want to see Joshua Tree NP and go back to 29 Palms (The Stumps)! but there's enough time for all of that crammed into 4 days right.. :flypig::rockon:

Ex Marine or military family I presume? No one wants to go to 29 Palms.

Anyways you can drive all of Joshua tree and still visit 29 Palms in the same day but two days is probably a good pace.

Not sure if you use Backcountry navigator app for Android but you will want to get some kind of an offline iOS or Android app for GPS. Joshua Tree has terrible to non existent cell coverage and little to no signs at all on the back roads.

A few years ago a mother and young son died because their phone GPS directed them out in the desert when they thought they were going to town. The roads go out into the desert for hours and it is easily confusing. They ran out of gas and got stranded. The national Park service advises specifically do not use cellular smart phones for GPS in Joshua tree. Get an independent app for your phone, one that works with only GPS enabled.

Anyways .... I also have a .gpx file with lots of drop points and trails there. Let me know if you want to use it.

Thanks so much. I am looking at off-line apps now. Yes, former Marine - LOL only the crazy ones liked the Stumps.
I do rucking and the like and was in Tucson beginning of March met a friend to hike Sabino Canyon. She's from Tucson so knows the trails... but since I'm not familiar with the West it's intimidating to hike around solo.
I do have a compass if all else fails.
I'll hit you up for some of those trails. I have an iPhone currently.

No one wants to go to 29 Palms.

Most people end up going there for the hot springs. There's a nice size hot spring nestled in a group a palms that's really enjoyable. That's if you're there before anyone else shows up.

Well I’ve arrived. Drive they J Tree and it’s sure pretty.
Got to 29 Palms and am having all kinds of Airstream envy.
I’ve seen some of y’all in those 3rd Gen Beasts driving around too. One looked just like mine... but better. If I could only get you to stop so I could drool longer
Off to see some architecture in PS cuz I love Midcenntury modern. It’s classic just like our 3rd Gens! I wish I had mine here to join the cool kids club.

Have fun out there, it was 77° in the SFV today - had to be at least 5° warmer in PS lol
