Go on myjeeprocks.com and look at Fishpoets posts. Search big bear yellow post sites. He usually has details, pics and gps coordinates to sites. The yellow post sites are scattered throughout Holcomb valley

You can camp anywhere in the National Forest, which is basically all of big bear. I'll be staying in Bear Saturday night as well, may camp or stay at cabin. Either way we can link up, hang, and help find a spot or something.

Are you wanting or looking for actual campgrounds? Are you ok with yellow post sites? Some are off the beaten path but nice.
Anyways I have a whole map of the area marked with campgrounds,yellow post and along the trail cool camp spots. So I take it you want a spot in the area of where the trail run ends? Just let me know.

A gamble just roll the dice..
Also during the run you see spots you like just drop a pin on your GPS so you can go back to them later as back up or future camp trips. I found a handful that I marked when I did the pre run. Shot I even came across a really nice one in a valley section by and old mine surrounded by lush trees shade and al. Also someone took the time to build a nice rock fire pit with a full size steel drum sunk into the center with a hole pattern and a front cut out that allows you to have a really nice big fire and and won't catch fire to the surrounding trees. Even built some rock benches and wood reclining chairs ...lol.

Hahahaha I know that's what it sounds like but the mine is a bit away and it doesn't go in very far at all. There's another camp spot similar to it about 30yds away. What it is the valley right there has an off road obstacle course and I think people go there and camp and kick while playing in that area so they made a nice couple spots ..
 
Nice...just remember fire permit doesnt neccessarily allow you to have an open campfire. I havent checked but usually big bear(especially this time of year) only allows enclosed fueled fires... i.e. camp stoves/lanterns. No open fire pits. Just check ahead of time... even if ur at a yellow post with a built fire ring. You can thank this DROUGHT we're having for that.

went with the demello hybrid bolt-on sliders ~ with a few welds for good measure.

unfortunately, no go on the practice run... gotta take the wife shopping for a washer/dryer [emoji87]
