no hotel ~ leaving our dogs @ home ~ so we'll head out early in the morning then head home after the run. it will be my last group run of the year... so figured why not make the drive

I didn't get very many pictures... I think Al's friend (the dude with the DSLR) is going to have the best shots.
It was a long day but I'm glad I went. Great trails and great people. Extra thanks to Andrew, Miah and Al for taking the lead on this event.
We did some stuff that I would have never done on my own... Maybe it's peer pressure
No damage on my end - I made the trip back to OC with no issues. My sliders and skid plate picked up a few new scratches but that's what I bought them for.

Did it just overheat, and blow the radiator cap? Or did you try to add fluid to it again when it cooled down. I've had issues with bad radiator caps, and engines overheating while driving mountain roads in the past. Low speed and high grades=lots of heat, and not enough air to cool it. A bad radiator cap can pop too early, release the pressure and lower the boiling point instantly. But if you tried that already and it is blowing at idle, then yes, probably water pump. Hope you get it figured out. And, thankfully it happened in an area you could be towed from.

By the way when Miah says 30-40 mph thru the valley he does not mean 50 plus, we went all wheels off ground and landed just before the bend. My son and I flew out of our seats . Great fun.

Round of applause to everyone that made this happen and helped where they could. Great teamwork by everyone. It wasn't luck everyone made it though with no body damage, and some parts of the trail looked impossible to get though without damage in a lightly modified 4runner. I saw so many people take initiative to help others out. I would guaranty there is no other regional forum as active, and with the enthusiasm we have here in the SoCal section.

There was a loud squeal and then the temp went way up and the car shut off and wouldn't start.
