Just a ponderance

This morning I shut my 4runner off at the job sit and my passenger side tail light remained on. I checked my lights to see if I had left them on and maybe the driver side bulb had went out. no luck with that. I ended up removing the tail light fuse to get it to turn off. After work I put the fuse back in and it didnt come back on. drove home and still nothing.
It was about 30 degrees here this morning. All I cant think of what would of caused this was maybe the relay froze. But then why just one side stayed on? Has anyone heard of this before?

i would look for a bad wire, you are correct that if the relay was bad then they both would not work.

Being that the light stayed on you will need to trace the power wire i have a feeling that the wire has jumped and that when you removed the fuse the connection was lost so there maybe bare wire somewhere look at all the normal spots like were the harness bends over the wheel well o similar places were crimping is possible.

If you run into a split or block then just get your voltage meter out and with the key off you will be able to find your hot wire then just start checking for the signal wires by turning on the side that is giving you issues blinker.

simple task just takes time and patience.
