just bought 1997 SR5 newbie question

i bought a 1997 SR5 2WD, it has 175000 miles,,,,its very well taken care as far as i can tell.....i need to know what kind of gas to fill it with? regular, medium or supreme....i want to take care of the engine but if the engine will be taken care of with regular than awesome because gas prices are through the roof..........and also what does the ECT button right behind the E-brake mean....i dont have the manual so i dont know these things......thanks to anyone that can help!!!!

It'll run fine on regular. Only the supercharged runners require premium. As for the ECT button if you search "ETC" then you should be able to find the answer to that one quite easliy. I just got a '96 SR5 4x4 and they're real tuff trucks. If you take care of it it will take care of you.

The ETC is Electronic Transmission Control. What that does is adjust the shift points and makes the truck "faster". It is usually used when towing but can be used everyday if you want/need more acceleration.

I myself drive with it on all the time.
