Hey everyone. I have been eyeballing this website for months now while researching an 4runner to buy. I will get pictures of shortly but i just purchased a 1997 White SR5 4runner for $4800 cash. It does have 175,000 miles on it but from everything i have been reading it was a steal. The individual who sold it to me did all of the preventative maintenance on it but for peace of mind do you have any immediate suggestions as to maintenance i should perform. I did notice that there is buildup on the right valve cover seal so i will be pulling that off and replacing that seal soon. Any suggestions for parts in general for the 4runner that i should be referring to? I know from reading the forums that these questions are asked time and time again so i will continue to do my own research but any friendly advice would be welcome.

I took a few years off from Toyota and now i am back regretting i ever left. Used to have a 1995 single cab Toyota 4 cyl. with 5" super lift, 3 inch Body, and 37x12.5x15's with all around 4.88's. I am out of the loop!!

Nice site btw, very informative.

Here are a few pictures of it. I definitely need new rims, any suggestions?

Nice man, reminds me of mine when it was stock. I'd have to agree those wheels aren't very easy on the 'ol eyes. I would love to get some Sequioa wheels, but even the stock split 3-spokes like mine are a lot better looking than those and you can find the stockies for cheap at pick-a-parts too.

See when they did the timing belt/water pump last because if it was done at 90K, it's getting close again now. Leaking valve cover gaskets are a pretty common thing on our engines, not a big deal. Congrats and welcome!

Wow, i just sent you a message at the same time you posted. Amazing. Yeah anything i should be looking for in the stock wheels?
