Just Bought a 2nd Gen t4r, but just a few Problems,

hi all, my first post as ive just bought myself a 3rd owner 1990 4runner with a 22r NA engine. i just want to know a few things.

I have a issue with the tachometer it pretty much works in reverse, when i accelerate the revs go down and jump all over the place. my thought is, is there some how the wire thats meant to go to the -ve side of the coil is some how on the +ve side?!

another question, whats a good carb replacement than stock? i have been thinking like a 32/36 DGAV Webber but im not sure whats a good replacement for performance and reliability?

i do believe that signal comes from the igniter could be a faulty igniter tach signal or emission control computer another guess a bad tach. good luck. no idea with carb, got extra cash call lce.

Mea Culpa. I'd thought the 22R was phased out for the 22RE in '86, but apparently the 22R engine was available until '95.

I still think it's odd, tho.
