Um done race it lol jk. Honestly the best thing I have found where you will have a good significant impact on you mileage would be running higher octane gas as in 91-93. Here's is my experience:
Vehicle: 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.2 4x4
Tank size: 23
Mileage: 195k
Mileage for test: All highway miles
Elevation: 1200-5300 (driving from Knoxville to Denver
First tank: full fill 85 oct
Second tank fill: drove 325 miles- 22.1 gal used- cost 3.79 /gal to refill 85 oct
(22.1*3.79)= $83.76
(83.76/325) = $0.258 per mile
Third tank: filled with 91 oct
Fourth fill: drove 415 miles - 22.3 gal used - cost to fill was $4.03 per gal 91 oct
(22.3*4.03) = 89.87
(89.87/415) = $0.217 per mile
Difference in cost per mile:
.258 - .217 = .041 per mile
Difference in cost per tank fill:
89.87 - 83.76 = $6.11
Rough estimate of miles gained:
415 - 325 = 90 miles
Just my experience, but I tried all kinds of additive and modifications on my jeep and from everything I could tell best thing to do is keep up on your routine maintenance will keep your mpgs up.
