Just bought a new 4Runner

Monday this week I went down to one of the local Toyota dealers and picked up a 2007 Sport Edition V8 Shadow Mica 4Runner. Heated leather seats, moonroof, Valor tip, Homelink, and some other goodies.

I'll try and post some pictures as soon as I get a chance to take some nice ones.

On a side note, being drinking buddies with the sales manager at the dealership made this purchase quite painless and quick. Not to mention I think I got a pretty nice deal...$33k with 10 miles on her.

I'll be headed back there this weekend to pick up some all-weather floor mats...hopefully they'll match the price from TRDParts4U.com so I don't have to pay $18 for shipping.

Do you have any pictures of the leather interior? That might be a worthwile mod for me in the future.

Congrats.

How did you get a SE with Leather....?

Was that a special order you had to wait for...?

The dealer had already installed aftermarket leather. Leather was one of the things that I wanted, and I happened to really like the color on the Sport Edition that they had parked in the showroom. It had pretty much everything I wanted.

Originally I was looking for an 06 with low mileage, but since my good friend gave me such a good deal I couldn't pass it up.

I still have to grab some pictures of it, inside and out, it seems.

I honestly probably won't do all that many mods to it. I just picked up some all-weather mats from the dealer for $40. I want to get a small brush guard. Other than that, I'll probably only install an amp and sub and maybe replace the factory deck. Oh, and tint, of course. Hopefully soon, those naked front windows bug me.

Hopefully it snows a couple feet soon, I need to take this baby out and play around.

Actually, here's two crappy pictures I snapped while at the dealership. I'll get some better ones up later:

Hey, thanks for posting the pics..... one of the dealers I'm shopping is very close to an After Market leather installer, so I'm now considering a Sport or SR5 since the leather interior was my main reason for wanting a Limited. I didn't realize this AM leather install was so common.

Did they itemize the cost on the truck "sticker" ?

Nice upgrade.

I'll have to double check, but I think it showed on the sticker for $2200 or something like that. My friend told me it costs them about $1600 to have it installed. I'm sure if you're handy with a needle you can do it yourself and save several hundred dollars.

On an old car forum I used to post on I remember lots of people doing their own installs with Katzkin leather upgrades.

I'll try and get some better pictures up when I can...just have to get the 4Runner from the wifey :P She leaves for work before I wake up, so it always seems to be gone.

so is this your truck or your wife's and is she going to let you mod it? :biggrin2:

Yeah, she'll probably drive it more than I will. And yes, I'll mod whatever I want :) I did the same to her old Acura CL as well. But, like I said, I won't be doing all that many mods. Just need to find a good pedestrian guard now.

Congratulations on your new truck! I share your excitement too since I also picked up a Shadow SE (V6 though) about a week ago. You have a great color. Shadow looks awesome in the morning sun. Have fun and enjoy the new runner. :D

Hey Slider... congrats on the ride!

I also had a CL. (2001 CL-S w/ Nav) Do you (or did you) post on AcuraWorld? A-CL.com? Your screen name looks familiar.

I did indeed post on Acuraworld for a while...and A-CL.com, but only like 2 or 3 times there. I probably had 1500 or more posts on Acuraworld.

I knew I recognized your screenname.

I have 2,600 posts over there.

Well, anyow, congrats on the 4Runner. I got mine on Feb 2nd, and I love driving it more everyday.

The mod bug is starting to itch, but so far I have resisted. :D

You dont even need a needle, just a socket set, a wire cutter, some time, and some patience. I did mine and it turned out great, the leather cost me 300

And now that you mention it, I recognize yours as well.

Actually, I think someone on here is from the ClubGP forums as well...at least I thought I saw someone's name that rang a bell.
