Just picked up my first runner, 1998 SR5, 105k, Leather. LOVE it. Big step up from my 1998 Corolla!
I searched and searched here but could not find anything about buying a new 4runner and what to look for.. so ..What should i look into and make sure is properly checked over before taking this 4R on any long trips or things of that nature?
Couple things i noticed after driving it. With the tires on it which have about 60% tread left..It rides like total crap. Almost as bad as my old 96 tahoe, something i did not expect but i took with a grain of salt seeing as it is a "truck"
Pressure is at 39-40 psi in all 4... Any ideas or is this normal?
Also, when hitting the blinker and highbeam the headlights will flicker off for a second then back on..Maybe bad connection?
I noticed this on my corolla to, but the engine seems to have this wierd howling or whine like a train in the distance? Are toyotas known for this?
Last, why dont my lights come on when opening the doors at night when it is set to the door position!!!! That was my favorite part about my corolla! haha.
If you guys can add any other advice i would really appreciate it. Types of tires to run?..Ill be using a little bigger than stock size. What kind of shocks for the rear at a fair price?
My wheels are pitted pretty bad, should i have them powder coated or just get a new set?
