just changed ign cyl to non immobilizer how to bypass tdt 99 limited?

My wife has a 99 limited and the ignition cylinder failed and the ket would no longer turn past column lock so after hours and hours of messing with it I just went and got a good used key and cylinder from the yard on a 97 limited with no immobilizer so this begs the question how do I get around this?
I have all of the chipped keys still and if I recall remote start shops use a spare key hidden somewhere in the dash to combat the theft deter system however I can not figure out how to do this?

Any input on this ordeal?

I'm not sure you can, but why no just have the ignition keyed to match the chipped keys? That way the locks all match and you still have the immobilizer. The actual lock cylinder is the same, the circular ring that lights up s where the wires for the i mobilizer is located, right?

I could be wrong but what I remember is its that way

I think some guys are epoxying the spare chipped under the column or somewhere close enough that the chip is read by the ignition.

where does the immobilizer pick up a the reading for the key?

Put spare in box, wrap ring coil around ignition assembly, connect up power and ground wire

Its really hard to get a spare key in the right spot...the signal is very weak and has to be placed just right and if it moves you will run into no start issues.. Just buy the $10 unit that you put your spare inside.
