Just had to do battery and alt at 340k, and still getting some of my aftermarket electrical hooked back up. Every time I disconnect and reconnect the battery, the alarm goes off. I don't mind the immobilizer, but the horn is infuriating when you've got your head under the hood. Obviously, when I think to do it, I can just unplug the horns before doing anything, but I'd really prefer to just take them away from the alarm entirely.
IMO, false alarms are so common nobody really pays attention anyway, I live well off the road behind a couple of gates, (though with close neighbors I'd rather not annoy with ridiculous noises) and my bedliner green 98 is neither pristine nor subtle, so the risk/reward for a thief would be pretty out of whack.
Is there a way to just remove the horn function entirely from the alarm, leaving it working normally from the horn button?
Only visible security feature is the little red light/button to the left of the column.
