Just got a 4-Runner -- Please give me your thoughts

Always wanted a 4-Runner, and finally bought one.

It's a 1999 4-Runner SR5, 3.4L V6. I has a little over 120,000 miles on it. It was very clean, and a pretty good price.

Here are the pictures, please let me know what you think.

It's still pretty much stock, as I just recently purchased it. I've added my own sound system:
-4 Sony Speakers
-2 Rockford Fosgate Punch P1 12" Subs
-Rockford Fosgate Amp
-JVC Deck

Then I added some 85/80 headlights and a new harness for them.

I also got some 270/65/16 General Grabber Tires for the highway, as I don't plan on off-roading much until I do more things to it down the road. I like off-roading, but don't do it often, unfortunately. I just want the car to look really nice, with some nice touches to it.

Let me know what you guys think please. Anything you would recommend doing to it? Links are appreciated.

Next few things on the list:

-Tint 15-20% on the windows
-Bully bar (no idea what kind yet - suggestions welcome)

Then probably a lift, new wheels and tires as well.

Looks nice! Interior looks really clean. I just put on some LED taillights, make the truck look much newer. I recommend that.

Those speakers may shake the Armor All off the tires... I know your engine is slightly different than my 2001 but what is that blue thing that looks like a fuel filter in the engine compartment

Looks good. I personally am not a fan of those grill guard things but... I've got a friend that has one for sale. It looks very similar to this one.

I just bought these and installed them last week. They look nice and it was easy to do. I like them bc they look factory, and not too aftermarket-ish.

I was looking at something like this:

Not sure how it will look, sometimes hard to tell until it is already installed. Haha

I like the LEDs and you can get them in smoke color which looks much better than the so called Euro style which look a bit out of place on a 3rd gen.

There's these which are more clear smoked but retain the overall OEM design and almost looks factory.

When I replace mine I haven't decided if i want smoked or the LEDs that mimic the OEM look with the read lenses.

Honestly, I don't understand the fascination with replacing the tail lights. Sure, I like the smoked look a better than the stock look, but man, this seems like a real small, purely aesthetic point. And for the cost of some of these, $130 for the cheapest set? I'd rather add lights or other mods that actually make the car function better. Not to mention that the LED lights are typically dimmer than the OEM's.

Anyway, not meaning to criticize or say they don't look better, it just seems to me to be a small reward for big cost mod compared to alot of the other mods I see here. Especially odd to me since this one is so popular.

I have done this equivalent mod on my motorcycle, but it was alot cheaper, and made a bigger difference in the overall look than I think this does on a 4runner.

Those are pretty sweet. I like those a lot.

Somehow I linked you to something else on accident the first time, I didn't mean to link the Euro's.

I am pretty sold on this little package here: LED Taillights, Clear Corner and Bumper Light

I am undecided on the bumper light, but I want the clear corners and LED Taillights. But now, I really like those smoked LED's, wish he didn't charge shipping of $20.

Tail light madness!!! Haha!

I think I'd focus more on replacing the timing belt if it hasn't been done (didn't see a sticker on the cover) and replacing the radiator (if it hasn't been done) to avoid the strawberry milkshake. Those are the things that will keep you on the road for years to come.

I agree but the LEDs are much brighter than the OEM bulbs (I was behind a 3rd gen equipped with some the other day) but it is more of a look mod (it does modernize the look much more so) but it is a useful one more than say 22" wheels or other useless bling mods. Plus the LEDs should last forever.
