First off, i hate this thing....it tells me how terrible gas millage i get haha. Over all i've had it for a day and so far i really like it. I punched in the Xgauage A/t temp code and im curious what everyone else i getting as far as temp readings on there auto trans. I havent really pushed it but i went up a very steep hill at WOT up to about 50 mph. never got over 141*, whats it supposed to be at?

What does everyone use on this tool? Im still trying to find out what other cool feature its has. Anyway. What do you use your scanguage for?

There are guys with 2 of them hooked up in series... I'm using mine to check ATF temp. I put an external tranny cooler in series with my aftermarket radiator and saw max of 185F uphill on a 90F day.

I have my 4 gauges set to show: ATF temp, coolant temp, intake air temp, and average MPG.

I like keeping exact tabs on all the temperatures, and the mpg helps me see what is most efficient. I've found that 50mph cruising is about the sweet spot for the highest mpg. I can get like 23-24 cruising at that speed. I only get 17-19 cruising at 70.

It's been around 90=95 degrees outside for a while, and my ATF regularly goes to 185-195 doing hours of around town driving. If it's up around 190 and I get on the highway, it drops to about 168. If I get on the highway before it gets real hot, and cruise it only runs about 150.

I set mine to show horsepower, % load on the engine, MPG, and coolant temperature. I wish I could use the ATF x-gauge, but it's too bad that it doesn't work with 96-98 4Runners.

Is your B&M hooked up by itself or in series with your radiator?

well cruising down the freeway at 70mph this morning it was 65* out, i didnt see over 109, is there a such thing as too cold?

By itself, and it's sandwiched between the condenser and radiator. It's not quite as efficient as it would be in front of the condenser, but I like having it next to the radiator for in the winter. I've seen 204 as my highest temp so far. Considering that's probably 15 degrees hotter than the actual pan temperature, I feel comfortable with it. I'm using MaxLife ATF.

Yes, there is such a thing as too cold....anything under 100 degree's is too cold for sustained use. Yours just stayed cool because you had it locked up before you ever got it really warm. If your cooler has a low pressure bypass design, then you're fine.
