Greetings! I just got my first 4runner, a 1988 SR5. It's a high mileage truck with 289k miles on the body and 70k on the rebuilt V6, 5-speed manual, and generally in clean condition. As you can see from the pics, the paint is faded, but overall it lends a certain charm to it
I look foward to checking out the forum and posting in the months to come, but I have a question I hope you guys can give me advice on. It may be a no-brainer for most of you, but here goes.
What's the best repair manual I should get? I had a Chilton's on my last two vehicles, and I didn't really think they were that good. So any advise is helpful.
My first two concerns are dealing with a power steering pump that may just need the seal replaced, and a passenger side window that has a new relay, but the guy that sold the truck to me tried to wire it up, but left two black (ground?) wires taped off, so the window only goes in one direction, then you have to take the door panel off to swap the two blue wires that connect to the harness that comes into the door from the body. Make sense?
Anyway, here's some pics of my new baby. I won't say sweetheart, or my wife will get upset. Besides, I do love my wife more

As you can see, it's not perfect. Some dings here and there, but I think it looks pretty good for the mileage. What do you think?
At present, I am planning to replace the mudders with smaller 31x10.5 radial tires. Any recommendations would be appreciated. I do 90% highway driving in this, but need to get to the mountains for snow and camping. I want something tough looking, but functional. Any advice there would be most welcome.
That's it for now, I hope to hear from you guys soon!
