Just got my Revo's installed...but

They look great! But on my way home they seem to bounce a little bit. Bounce may be the wrong word...maybe rough? I know they are aggressive tires and I am assuming that they will wear a little bit and then they will be fine. Any thoughts?

Cool, yeah I have been going back and forth for about a month now, but I think I am going to go with the stock size as well...
Where did you end up buying them from, getting them installed? I have been waiting to see if that 4 tires for the price of 3 pops up again at Discount Tire or Tires Plus.....

But I want to get rid of these Dunlops before the snow hits for good.
 
Mine were very bouncy too, I was very disappointed at first.

Give it 1,500 miles to wear off the new rubber compound and you will love them.
 
I just had put on about 2 weeks ago (stock size) and I kind of had the same thing. Take them up on the highway for a nice run and they will be great. I love them and they look great! Its supposed to snow here Monday and I CANT WAIT! That will be the real test.

I had mine put on at the dealer. The dealer I go to does "free tires for life" if you have them do your service. So I ended up paying $40 for my Revo's because they were a little more expensive then the stock DunSlops.

I ended up getting mine at Dunn Tire for $199/tire installed. This was the cheapest in my area. I am glad to hear that they just need to break in. I thought that might be all that was necessary but I wasn't sure. Now the snow can fly! Bye bye Dunlops.

qballjr13... so you only had to pay $40??? That's great. I'm on the tires for life thing too and I'm almost up for a new set. I wonder how much they'll charge me for the tires.

I didn't see any mention of tire pressure. You checked that, right?

You beat me to the obvious question!!

If the tire pressure is too high they definitely will feel bouncy.
 
The Revo is NOT an agressive tire so it wont be from that. Probably from air pressure or improper balance.

Also the 265/70/17 look better because of the size and are cheaper to but because the 65 series in not mass produced like the 70 series is.

I went with 265/70/17 best move & looks better , a slight increase in clearance and slightly higher stance.

What would be the point to stay with the stock size ?
 
I have the stock size Revos and there is no bounce at all. I keep them inflated to 32 psi. I would first check pressure and then have them balanced again. My only complaint with the Revos is the hum at highway speeds, but it is well worth it!
 
I also notice the slight "bouncier" ride now with the Revos vs the Dunlops. I went w/the 70s in instead of 65s. Driving home from Firestone was pretty stiff as the tech inflated them to 44psi. I dropped them back down to 32psi when I got home. I've put 5k miles on them already and have gotten used to them. I would say that the Revos @ 32psi felt like the Dunlops @ 42psi. Even though the Revos seem bouncier, they also seem to make the steering more responsive. Just my observation
 
Just noticed some dry rot on my dunlop tires. Went on tire rack to price some new tires and called a local tire shop here (VA). He sold me on Revo's and beat the internet pricing. After all I read on here about the tire I dropped the dime on a set of 4 for my 97 4runner. I went up to 265/75/16 and love them so far. Great tire. Now I think I might look at a small lift... 1" - 1.5" etc. Thanks for all the advice on the forum
 
Yes 30 day guarantee and also the option that if the 265/75/16 rubbed or was not the ride I was looking for, they will swap them out for 265/70/16 or whatever size is needed. The 75 size fit perfectly without fitment issues on a stock ride height 97 Runner
