$750 under invoice is an OK but not great deal. There is a $1000 rebate going on right now plus you should be able to negotiate a deal at invoice or slightly lower ($500 below or so) so your combined strike price should be something closer to $1500 below invoice (not considering tax, etc).

My bud just got his for $1000 under invoice plus the $1000 rebate for a total of $2000 savings

Yep...just picked mine up last Friday. I paid 1k below invoice with the mail in rebate. Sticker...37,980.00 Actual paid...31,704.00 This is my first new car, and I had no idea that you can purchase vehicles as far below msrp as I paid (and it seems others are paying). I always looked at new cars at the auto show and such and just thought the window sticker was what you paid with the exception of a couple of hundred of negotiation. Boy was I wrong ;):

wow 1000 below invoice and 1000 rebate is insane!!!

geez wish i could have had steals like this back when i got mine....gggrrrrr

Wow...wish I coulda waited too but I had to get rid of my piece of Sh*t 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the large Toyota dealer I went to was the only one who would take it off my hands (nobody else wanted to give me squat)! The brakes went every 2500 miles (pulsating!), and everything else from the power steering pump to the leaking door gaskets was falling apart...so, no regrets as I have enjoyed my 4runner immensely since March!! Lovin it everyday!

wait a min. you said your 04 sport 4wd sticker for $37,980? and with the rebate and invoice price you get it for $31,704? WTF I dont think a SE 4wd sticker that high?? does $31,704 including tax and tag etc.?

What exactly is the invoice price?

Dealer and Carmax has Invoice ~$3500 below MSRP

Edmunds and KBB has Invoice ~$4000 below MSRP

This was on a SE v8 4x4 @$35K MSRP. It is consider "fully" loaded here on the mid atlantic region.

What options did you get for $37K MSRP?

My post may be misleading. I did not get my vehicle for 2 grand below invoice. I got it for invoice and they deducted my $1K rebate at the dealership. Invoice=32,704 and they knocked off the rebate instantly and I financed 31,704. Yep...37,9XX MSRP. 04' SE 4WD V8...Dealer installed graphite leather...dealer upgraded alarm...moonroof...JBL synthesis w/changer...daytimes...autodimming mirror w/ compass...blah...blah...blah it's loaded including a couple of options I did't care for including the space diminishing double decker cargo system. It has a stock hitch but I don't know all the sports may have them. It didn't seem expensive next to the 42,XXX stickered limited sitting next to it.
